Simon2985
Hello, I'm trying to learn the construction set so I can make mods for Oblivion. I'm a complete newbie so I have very little idea on what to do. I'm following these tutorials: Guide I am using I have got to the point where it says to place a plate on the bar in the Inn. I put the plate there, save the mod, activate it in the Launcher, but the plate does not apear in the game. No matter what I change the game remains unaffected. I have followed the tutorial to the letter, but there is proberbly something really obvious that I am missing. Help would be apreiciated,Thanks. P.s. I am using windows Vista. roquefort
Could this simply be a Vista problem? http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index...n_Windows_Vista
Simon2985
Ok, I have uninstalled oblivion from my computer, and reinstalled it into a new directory (C:\Games\). I have also reinstalled a newly downloaded version of the construction set. But still any changes I make in the construction set do not apear in the game. I have even removed any mods that I had installed, deleted all my old saved data (hadn't got very far) and started a brand new save, still nothing. exanimis
To most of us it seems obvious but to new people it isn't (I had the same problem) When you start up the construction set there is a window to the left with a list of all the mods and the Oblivion esm. When you choose your mod from the list it should have an X beside it and it should be highlighted in blue. Below that window is a button that says "Set file as active" or something like that. Use that button to set the file as active before making any changes. If that doesn't solve the problem (but is should) try activating the Oblivion esm. (master file) and then setting your mod as active. Doing that will make your mod dependent on the Oblivion esm, something you will eventually have to do anyway. Hope that helps Happy moddingX
Simon2985
Hey guys,Problem solved  , I was using the wrong version of the costruction set. I was using version 1.2, which I have found out is for the expansion packs and I needed version 1.0. I have now got 1.0 and have finally been able to change something and have it apear in the game. I would like to thank you for your help with my problem. :thanks:
