Body Mods - Recommend me one

Normally I wouldn't make this kind of topic, but for this particular need I'm at a bit of a loss. Namely because it seems like the body mods tend to be all over the place for Skyrim (compared to Oblivion or FO3) and I'm not so sure which one comes recommended.

 

But either way, what I'm looking for is mainly a better body mod, with the condition that it has an underwear option. Not because I'm any sort of prude, but because I don't live alone and having digital genitals show up on screen would just produce way too many an awkward conversation.

What type? Male, female, high rez textures, freckles? All come with a non-nude version. Mostly it depends on your taste.

Well... if you're playing a male you can get one called Better Males and after you DL it you can select the underwear option. I didn't for mine the first time I installed it, then I killed a dude and looted his corpse... AWKWARD. lol. One thing though... don't install the hair replacer unless you like guys walking around with long flowing tresses. It's a total preference thing, so if you are into that look, then install the optional hair mod it comes with of course!

 

I am not sure one exists for females that has underwear always on when they're looted! I could be wrong, but I haven't found one. However, there is a mod called Mature Skin and it's probably the best skin texture mod I have ever seen. So, if you can get over the nudity for the female, I highly recommend it.

I too, am sort of overwhelmed by how many body mods and skin textures there are. I want everything in the game to look better, so I'd like to mod the character's bodies...but I don't want naked people all over the place.

 

There are things like Fitness Body, which I think would look sensible for my character, but I need either UNP or CBBE with that, but there's also something called "Fitness Bodyslide", and other things with the phrase "bodyslide" in them - what are those mods about? And making sure skin textures work with whatever you get...I mean, every single mod seems to make a big deal out of getting rid of the neck seam. Apparently that's a hard thing to fix too.

 

And then there's the issue of making sure armor looks right on your character after you've modded their body model...this is like, the most complex part of modding Skyrim, from the looks of it!

I believe most female body mods come with underwear options, but given how I've only ever used one body mod...I only know about that one for sure. =D

CBBE comes in nude and 2 'NeverNude' options. Easy to install either with NMM, or manually (visual guides in mod description.). It also comes in 3 base body shapes (Curvy, the default one; Slim, the much more petite body; and Vanilla, the one most like the original Skyrim bodies), as well as BodySlide, to create custom shapes (and BBP bodies, if desired), and TexBlendLite, to remove neckseams if you don't want to use the CBBE FacePack.

 

BodySlide = a utility created and continuously developed by Caliente. It allows you to create pretty much any body shape you desire.

Other modders have adapted BodySlide, and either made new presets for it (body presets - no need to move sliders, just install and create), or have made many more sliders for it (as in the case with Moonballz/Stuffed_Bunny's BodySlide++).

I once went through Nexus and made a list of all the body mods available - it came out at around 30 female body mods (compared to the 2 for Morrowind, and the...8 or so for Oblivion...ye gods!). Perhaps I should do it again and make the list public.
