getiniint SKSE function returning 0, what am I doing wrong?

As you can see in the link above, it's simply setting some variables to the ini values, then checking to see if they equal the ini values. If not, then it prints their value. The problem is they are getting set to 0 every time, so in game it's printing "sub 0" and "add 0", then "vD", then it does NOT print "vwrJump".

 

Am I doing something wrong? The esp and ini are both in my data folder.

 

Edit: so I just found that this function only works with ini settings that are part of skyrim.ini and skyrimPrefs.ini, so no chance of making a custom ini file?
