Converting a region specific game

I have a question for any tech savvy modders out there. I am wondering if it would at all be possible to replace or modify a game file for a steam game to change it to a different regional version. Specifically I am in the US and I wish to convert my Nioh 2 complete edition to the Japanese version in order to remove the dismemberment in game(I can deal with blood but not dismemberment). How difficult would it be to mod my version of the game to remove the dismemberment in my version of the game? Could I purchase the Japanese version and copy of the exe file over top of the installation on my english version? Are there any other files I would need to copy and replace over my english version besides that or would it be more complicated than that? Would it require actually modding specific files?
