TheGreatAndMightyWalrus Posted April 5, 2021 Share Posted April 5, 2021 LOD means level of detail, and typically refers to how much detail is shown at various distances. So you won't see textures in full resolution if the object is far away. This is used to strike a balance between performance and image quality. Also because sometimes the full texture actually looks terrible from far away due to rendering fewer of its pixels.
