funexplosions
I'm reverse-engineering parts of SkyRe just so I can figure out how Perk editing works. The perk effect I selected to look into is 'WeaponSpeedMult.' I've traced it to its origin, which appears to be an Actor Value. The Actor Value appears to have zero effects/modifiers/anything attached to it; as far as I can tell, it's just a placeholder. YET, it's still listed as numerous MGEFs' "Associated Item." Why is it listed as Associated Item for multiple MGEFs?Why does the actor value appear to have no attributes of its own? Is it merely a placeholder? Is this common practice? Any clarification on this would be very much appreciated.
funexplosions
Well, in case this never gets answered I've been able to perhaps glean the purpose behind it all: From what I can tell it is merely an association needed to categorize the perks/effects/whatever within Skyrim itself. I think it has to do with how you would modify the attributes from the in-game console. All-in-all, it appears to be in place purely for convenience and on-the-fly variable tweaking. I'm definitely not certain about any of this, and wouldn't advise basing anything you do off of what I just said, but it's -- at most -- my best guess as to what's going on. GrimyBunyip
this actor value is used in a few magic effects, like the weapon speed bonus conferred by that dual wielding perk for example.
