geehew
A mod I love for immersion is called Interesting Npcs. It doesn't have anything to do with actual gameplay, but the characters I've met are well voiced with quite a bit to say. Some can become followers and the game begins to feel very Dragon Age Origins if you like that. The only downside is that even Skyrim's most charismatic npcs are likely to come off as very hollow and shallow to you after meeting a few of those. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/8429/Some gameplay mods that I've enjoyed are Proper Magic which is a very seamless, "vanilla +" type of magic overhaul, you don't notice it's a mod. I believe it can go with ACE if ACe is modular as I recall it to be. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/34342/Another fun little mod if you play with any magic is Magic Duel ...and that means any at all as it doesn't seem to require any specific ability level in any specific magic tree. It doesn't happen too often for me as my timing is poor, but when it does it's quite the spectacle. If you and an enemy caster fire a spell at nearly the same time you enter a Harry Pottter wand battle type of event with your respective spells. No wands of course Heh. Doubt there'll be any conflicts there either.http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/34583/

mathern
I recommend Climates of Tamriel: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/17802/? Set on it's darkest setting and mixed with Better Torches, Claralux More and Brighter Lights, and Wearable Lanterns it makes for a world that is intensely frightening at night (especially when you're a noob and sabre cats jumping out of the darkness could mean death). The lighting mods help because it is truly dark and you'll NEED light to travel at night. Claralux is especially good because it makes the roads travelable at night, but makes stepping ten feet from the road an adventure that only a brave traveler would take part in. The other two only help a little bit.. but anything you can do to fend of the darkness helps... hah.http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/27443/?http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/17605/?http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/17416/? GrimyBunyip
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/33395/ Can't say I have anything immersion based but SkyTweak is probably the least intrusive balance mod, and you can use it on top of anything else you have. You also might be interested in the "Grimy Utilities" mod There's a few random tools in there like:Quick Barter Menu (IE no dialogue)Add/Remove spells from NPC's (IE useful for your followers)Make an NPC unequip everything (also useful for making your followers swap gear)An object tweaker, in case you ever feel like organizing your house more thoroughly or building a staircase out of all the armor you've collected or whatever.and some other stuff maybe, I can never keep good track of the stuff I put in my mods.
