Simpson3k Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 (edited) A certain effect, created under x conditions will be repeated an infinite number of times, given an infinite amount of space and am infinite amount of time. But if the big bang theory is correct, time and space isnt infinite, or? The universe got created and its expanding..so time and space is limited (its very big and old in scales of human time but not infinite) So a probaly similar planet like the earth would need an equal distance to its sun to be habitatable and, it needs a moon to stabilize its climate so that life can surfive and evolve. HeyYou Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Replying to Are we alone in the universe? ... Answer ... No, you are here ! And how do I know that you aren't just a figment of my computers imagination? :)

Nintii Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 @ HeyYou, yeah you ... your computer doesn't have the capacity to imagine someone as complex as me sweety. @ zegh8578 ... Quite right, we have to start somewhere ... let's face it, we haven't even discovered every species on our own planet yet ... aliens are living amongst us.

HephaestusAndrocus Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 The actual figure for the probability of life exactly like us to form somewhere else is (according to Prof. Brian Cox) 10^-81. And if there are an infinite number of universes, as the Multiverse theory suggests, there is a universe for every slight change in anything. For example, it may take me another second to type this in another universe.

Technically since there is another universe for every possible outcome, anything you can imagine (within the laws of physics anyways) happens in another universe.
Jopo1980 Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 Yeah, has anyone seen the movie Source Code? It´s about alternate realities and multiple universes. It is mindboggling that there might be a universe for every possible outcome of reality.
