New video card, skyrim won't launch

I run at 1920x1080 and no, windowed mode won't work, either. I think I regret going to AMD.

My display is 1920x1080, the game wont work in windowed mode either.

try changing the aspect ratio 16:9 4:3 resolutions some screens can't properly display one or the other

I think its a problem with catalyst, the game will show the resolution field in windowed mode but I still get the "Failed to initialize renderer" thing.

Try this:

 

Delete your skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini files from '..../My Games/Skyrim/', and let the game generate new ones on launch.

Also, I wonder if you might need to log out of steam and log back in to have Steam collect the updated system information.
