Well i dont know if theirs another but i'm gonna put my opionion in anyway. I think they both are awesome and are gonna be awesome. I cant wait to play fable and see how much different is is from morrowind. I have heard alot of good things about fable and i preordered it. I recently watched a trailer for the game and it looked really good. I like the customibility(sp?..if thats even a word...) of the game and how you progress through childhood through adulthood. It is a brittish game though...i bet the people in the game will have accents...

Moving on. Morrowind, as you all know has been praised not only on this forum but on others and in magazines and in the gaming world. Fable is doing what morrowind did years back by bringing a new revolutional game to the rpg genre. I cant say which game i like better cause fable doesnt come out for another month. (So close but yet so far...) All i can say is I might not be on the forums as much this fall, considering all of the awesome games coming out. :D :( Well that was my opinion on morrowind and fable, while successfully typing 2 paragraphs and i feel, dodged the question mainly :D *walks away quickly hoping to not be beaten by other members for saying he might not be on as much*...

I cant say for sure which game will be better. Morrowind is one of the most critically aclaimed games ever. It is probably the best RPG out there, even though that is an outrageous claim. Fable has to be extremelly good to even try to scratch the surface of the greatness of morrowind. Im not saying it doesnt have it in it. It has some great possibilites in it. I love the graphics and the animations of Fable which pretty much annihalates morrowinds. It has the ability of good and evil. You can play through the game and never do the same game twice. You age and you change. Very customizable. I am not sure aobut the gameplay of Fable though. I think that will be the deciding factor on its greatness.

Considering Fable isn't even out yet...

Fable has two things going for it:

1) Graphics. While graphics aren't exactly the most important thing, they look very nice and clean.

2) Peter Molyneaux. This dude, despite Black & White is one of my favorite game 'gods'. He has a lot of great ideas, but sometimes they don't always work out. I have high hopes for Fable, at this point.

High _hopes_? Yes, only hopes. Recently I watched a Fable walkthrough and while it looked cool and Molyneaux provided the commentary, something just wasn't righti. The game looked linear, but in the same way KOTOR is and thats it.

At this point, I'm going to say Fable. But Morrowind is good, too, just for different reasons.

...those reasons being:

1) Modability. Pretty much the reason why this game is living as long as it is and the reason MEmod exists on this engine.

2) Nonlinearity. The world is pretty open, and there is a truckload of things to do. I doubt anyone will ever complete ALL the quests the game has to offer.

My $0.02 USD

I'ma say Fable. Just because Molyneux is a creative genius. To quote [paraphrase] him in the walkthrough:

"In Fable, if you want to do it, you can. You can get married, have children, be good, evil whatever... If you are good enough, you can become mayor of a village. You can buy a house, h*ll, if you're rich enough you can buy/start your own village."

When comparing MW and Fable, you almost must compare MW and Gothic, there is no way around it. Especially in the German speaking RPG-community, those both are hot concurrents, we have heavy fights against eachother which game is acctually better.

Most German RPG gamers consider the Gothic-games to be superior than MW. Most say that MW is boring, dull, always the same, too few details, no living world, no living characters, large but not filled. While Gothic is smaller, but has more details, a living world with living characters, speaking characters (all persons you encounter acctually speak) and a feeling of really being there which lacks MW. I tend to agree there, but also think that MW has a lot of positive points, like its complexity. But I am not sure, which of the both is better. They are probably about the same.

Bah, Fable is a stupid console-game! No console-rpg has ever had any depth or plot whatsoever, and it is therefore moot to compare those two games.

pharzon..

note that I don't have a console; I actually thought Fable looked very promising until I found out that it was only for X-box! Blasted developers - no mercy on us PC-players!
