Rennn
I use the official hd dlc because I prefer the appearance to hd 2k. The problem is, I crash randomly when I use the official hd dlc. I have a 2GB 660, 8GB of Gskill Ripjaw RAM at 1600mhz (though Skyrim can only use 4GB as it's 32-bit), and a 64-bit installation of WIndows 7. I can run any texture mods on the Nexus without hitting the limits of my memory, so it's not related to that. This has happened on 2 video cards. The first was a 768MB 460, so I assumed the lack of vram was the problem. I was wrong, as the ctds occur just as often on my new 660. I verified the game cache with Steam, and there were no broken files. I have the Unofficial High Resolution Patch. Any ideas about how to fix this crashing? It has to be the hd dlc, because the crashes completely disappear once it's disabled. Edited May 11, 2013 by Rennn

Deleted3507349User
I also had the same problem on a couple of video cards (a 1GB Radeon and a 2GB GeForce...go figure). What would happen is that very often the game would appear to 'forget' to load textures, resulting in blue-plastic-looking objects. Within a few minutes *poof* Skyrim go bye-bye. What helped me tremendously was installing a mod called "Bethesda Hi-Res DLC Optimized". The game now only crashes very rarely due to this issue. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/9080/
Rennn
I had the same problem. My solution was to not use it. Yeah, that's not going to happen. I love how the official hd dlc looks. I would extract it all from the .bsa to avoid loading errors before I would get rid of it. I'm just looking for fixes.
