Mr. Frodo
(Sorry in advance if this is off topic)I’m new to 3d modeling and would like to import my work to Morrowind. Maya Personal Learning Edition may be free but does it have a plugin like 3ds max that enables it to export to .nif? If not how about Maya to Gmax? Then will Gmax use the 3ds max .nif exporter plugin. (I'm not comfortable spending money on 3d modeling programs but want my work to appear in Morrowind) Thank you for any help you can give me. My preferred program would be Maya Personal Learning Edition 6 , so is there any way to export work from Maya to Morrowind? Thank You,Mr. Frodo :stupid:
Peregrine
No, no and no. The only way to export models to Morrowind is through 3dsmax. Either by owning it yourself, or hoping that your models from other programs can be imported by someone else with 3dsmax. In the case of gmax, it's possible, but buggy. In the case of Maya PLE, I have no idea, but it's probably another one of those locked formats.
Mr. Frodo
Oh…… (Sniffle) I have to then contemplate if it is worth buy an outdated version of max and risk not being able to learn 3d modeling. I think I will try modeling in Maya Personal Learning Edition to see if I can do 3d modeling then see about buy 3ds max. Thanks Peregrine.
