SilverNirvash
i am and will ALWAYS be annoyed by the loading screen for skyrim. i'm used to oblivion telling me how far along i am in loading my game up or loading up the next cell when going through a door to an internal or external cell. why can't there be a progress bar to show you how much is left to load? why must i guestimate? is there ANY way to do this? they've already made a real time clock on loading screens to show what time it currently is according to my computers clock...so why can't there be a loading progress bar? Xilante
What would be the point? they only last a bunch of seconds
SilverNirvash
not everyone's game loads up quickly dude. i run over 200 mods and those tend to drag the loading time down quite a bit depending on where i am and what i'm doing. on top of that if the game crashes mid load the game still shows the loading screen and doesn't tell you it's crashed as sometimes it doesn't CTD it just sits there on the loading screen moving background and all. i'd like to know if something is wrong on my loading screen instead of just guessing. all games with loading screens has a loading progress bar why can't skyrim have one too? Xilante
if it's that bad it means your save is broken because of evil scripts
SilverNirvash
well it doesn't ALWAYS freeze mid load it just sometimes freeze mid load when i save in certain areas....those areas being almost randomized....
gingersnapples
you could try using TESV edit if you don't already. do you use BOSS?
KnightTobi
What would be the point? they only last a bunch of seconds a bunch of seconds add up for me it to like 3 minutes
nightinglae850
do you use this no smoke mod? http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/7901 it makes my game load twice as fast
SilverNirvash
no smoke mod simply reduces lagg and some slight load time. BOSS only helps with the load ORDER of the mods and it doesn't recognize half of my mods so i also use BUM to sort through the unrecognized mods. this doesn't reduce load time though it simply reduces the amount of conflicts between mods. however neither BOSS nor BUM know how to fully order my mods because half of the unrecognized mods i have installed either aren't effected by skyproc patches like lootification or reproccer so they usually end up automatically getting shoved under my skyproc patches ESP's even though reproccer and lootification and mods like those need to be at the end of the load order. BUT THIS ISN'T WHAT THE TOPIC OF THE THREAD IS!!!! this thread is a request thread for a loading time progress bar to show the loading progress between cells. as KnightTobi already said a bunch of seconds add up and in turn become minutes. BOSS nor BUM help in load time.
billyro
I would really like to see something that indicates how long until it loads. It's quite annoying when you do get the occasional crash at a loading screen but there is no evidence of it until you CTRL-ALT-DELETE. At least if you noticed the percentage variable wasn't changing, you could get a good idea whether or not it has crashed.
