BaldingPuma
I just downloaded a bunch of mods and used BOSS to set the load order but the game still crashes on opening. The load order it gave me looks like this: Fallout3.esmAnchorage.esmStreetLights.esmThePitt.esmCRAFT.esmBrokenSteel.esmCALIBR.esmEVE.esmPointLookout.esmFO3 Wanderers Edition - Main File.esmMart's Mutant Mod.esmZeta.esmFO3 Wanderers Edition - Alternate Travel.espUnofficial Fallout 3 Patch.esmStreetLights - Wasteland.espCASM.espGNR Enhanced.espFO3 Wanderers Edition - Main File.espFO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Anchorage.espFO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC The Pitt.espFO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Broken Steel.espFO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Point Lookout.espFO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Mothership Zeta.espFO3 Wanderers Edition - Followers Enhanced (BrokenSteel).espFO3 Wanderers Edition - Optional Restore Tracers.espFO3 Wanderers Edition - Optional VATS Halftime.espFO3 Wanderers Edition - Optional VATS Realtime.espFO3 Wanderers Edition - Optional Restore Tracers (automatics only).espWeaponModKits.espWeaponModKits - FWE Master Release.espWeaponModKits - OperationAnchorage.espWeaponModKits - ThePitt.espWeaponModKits - BrokenSteel.espWeaponModKits - PointLookout.espWeaponModKits - Zeta.espEcho_UseBothGloves.espEVE - FWE Master Release.espEVE - FWE Master Release (Follower Enhanced).espEVE Anchorage - FWE DLC Anchorage.espEVE - FWE with WeaponModKits.espMart's Mutant Mod.espMart's Mutant Mod - DLC Anchorage.espMart's Mutant Mod - DLC The Pitt.espUnofficial Fallout 3 Patch - Operation Anchorage.espMart's Mutant Mod - DLC Broken Steel.espMart's Mutant Mod - DLC Point Lookout.espMart's Mutant Mod - DLC Zeta.espUnofficial Fallout 3 Patch - The Pitt.espMart's Mutant Mod - FWE Master Release.espMart's Mutant Mod - FWE Master Release + DLCs.espMart's Mutant Mod - FWE Master Release + Project Beauty.espUnofficial Fallout 3 Patch - Broken Steel.espFellout-pipboylight.espFellout-Full.espFellout-Anchorage.espFellout-BrokenSteel.espFellout-PointLookout.espFellout-Zeta.espUnofficial Fallout 3 Patch - Point Lookout.espUnofficial Fallout 3 Patch - Mothership Zeta.esp Any ideas on what is wrong? Purr4me
No way Boss will do that. That load order is all messed up and no way will it run this way. get Fomm, it's in my signature and it's update fix also in my signature so you don't need to chase after software, that's why I have it there for you to use quickly and easy.Install fomm, outside the program files and folders , preferably in the game directory. over write fomm with the updated zip contents, and update fomm, DO NOT Allow fomm to check for updates, or replace missing information as that code was written long ago and no longer supported, Boss is the new kid in town......BUT, you need to straighten out this mess first. Use fomm to sort and arrange your data, then perhaps it might run for you, but now way will that run. Kitty.
M48A5
To get started, the Fallout.esm and the DLC .esm should be grouped together in order of release. Then place Streetlights.esm above BrokenSteel.esm. Disable and delete Streetlights - Wasteland.esp as it is included in Streetlights.esm. Disable and uninstall Mart's Mutant Mod - FWE Master Release + Project Beauty.esp since you don't have Project Beauty. Use only one of the Optional Restore Tracers and Optional VATS.Also, did you download and install a bunch of mods without installing the mods one at a time and checking in the game to ensure it was installed and working properly?Does the game start and run without mods? BaldingPuma
Yes it starts and runs fine without any mods selected. I use FOMM and had it auto sort it and used some of your tips to make the order go to this: Fallout3.esmAnchorage.esmThePitt.esmStreetLights.esmBrokenSteel.esmPointLookout.esmZeta.esmUnofficial Fallout 3 Patch.esmCRAFT.esmCALIBR.esmEVE.esmFO3 Wanderers Edition - Main File.esmMart's Mutant Mod.esmFO3 Wanderers Edition - Alternate Travel.espUnofficial Fallout 3 Patch - Operation Anchorage.espUnofficial Fallout 3 Patch - The Pitt.espUnofficial Fallout 3 Patch - Broken Steel.espUnofficial Fallout 3 Patch - Point Lookout.espUnofficial Fallout 3 Patch - Mothership Zeta.espCASM.espGNR Enhanced.espFO3 Wanderers Edition - Main File.espFO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Anchorage.espFO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC The Pitt.espFO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Broken Steel.espFO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Point Lookout.espFO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Mothership Zeta.espFO3 Wanderers Edition - Followers Enhanced (BrokenSteel).espFO3 Wanderers Edition - Optional VATS Halftime.espFO3 Wanderers Edition - Optional Restore Tracers (automatics only).espWeaponModKits.espWeaponModKits - FWE Master Release.espWeaponModKits - OperationAnchorage.espWeaponModKits - ThePitt.espWeaponModKits - BrokenSteel.espWeaponModKits - PointLookout.espWeaponModKits - Zeta.espEcho_UseBothGloves.espEVE.espEVE Operation Anchorage.espEVE - FWE Master Release.espEVE - FWE Master Release (Follower Enhanced).espEVE Anchorage - FWE DLC Anchorage.espEVE - FWE with WeaponModKits.espMart's Mutant Mod.espMart's Mutant Mod - DLC Anchorage.espMart's Mutant Mod - DLC The Pitt.espMart's Mutant Mod - DLC Broken Steel.espMart's Mutant Mod - DLC Point Lookout.espMart's Mutant Mod - DLC Zeta.espMart's Mutant Mod - Zones Respawn.espMart's Mutant Mod - Tougher Traders.espMart's Mutant Mod - Natural Selection.espMart's Mutant Mod - Master Menu Module.espMart's Mutant Mod - FWE Master Release.espMart's Mutant Mod - FWE Master Release + DLCs.espFellout-pipboylight.espFellout-Full.espFellout-Anchorage.espFellout-BrokenSteel.espFellout-PointLookout.espFellout-Zeta.esp Now it goes through the opening slides to the one of a BoS guy where the start menu is supposed to appear, but it doesn't. It just stays there until i switch to the desktop and it tells me the game has crashed. I know now i should have gone slower and tested mods out one by one, but i didn't. Is going back and trying each one through trial and error the only option or do you guys have any other ideas? Thanks for the help so far.
Purr4me
1.....step at a time......get the old version of fo3edit 3.0.15 "Because" IT does not redirect any directories or give you hassle as to where your files are located. install it / drop it into the games root folder and make a shortcut to desktop. run that program. on the right hand window of fo3edit, it will show you the offending files, in other words, Either missing master or data not in line /out of order.1rst and for most, use fomm to disable all those it finds . you do this this way and check to see if the game will load, worry about fixing the problem later, ok. just get into the game first. forget about all the rest of the stuff involved , if you can not load the game at all ....with mods....we can't help you......this procedure will allow us all to converse in a way that is organized.
