Guides and upload policy

Greetings.

I am seeing a few tutorials or guides posted under modders resources and tutorials.

Some are getting constantly put under moderation and hidden who contain only a txt file and rely on the description.

Others who do contain only a txt file as well and rely on the description are not under moderation or hide status.

Both are usually well done guides with instructions focusing on installation/ load order and correct usage or usage tips of certain modders tools, especially for modders tools who get very confusing and the authors either don't provide support to the user if he doesn't use Mod Organizer 2 (just because the feel like it while there is alot of ways to use them with Vortex as well) and usually their guides either lack information or the authors can't speak English very well.

Most of the times the result is ''Users searching forums endlessly'' to find simple answers that weren't mentioned or just abandoning the modders tools all together.

Some even neglect to help with that (their choice) in order to force the users to other forums like S.T.E.P and may get frustrated if someone posts a simple guide (workaround) that does work and has been troubleshooted.

DynDOLOD is such an example and can be used by desktop shortcuts with a less time consuming method and efficiency without the need for MO2 but the author likes to make people think it works only with MO2 and does not intend to provide support for other mod managers. The lack of guides is proof of that. (That's his choice though).

I can go on with examples that need guides especially for new modders and Vortex/NMM users.

To the point:

Why are such guides are removed and under which circumstance are they removed (hidden status) while containing a working description plus txt file while others who do the same do not go in (hidden status).

Is it possible nexus moderators are a bit picky and allow personal preferences to determine their actions?

If so then maybe, make no exceptions and either revise community asset upload rules or enforcing them for everyone and regardless?

Also something has to be done with abandoned projects. I believe after year of inactivity Nexus should have the right to take the assets and do a contest/ vote for potential volunteer modding teams who can apply and let Nexus staff determine who gets the permissions to continue a project.

Otherwise we would still wait for Werner von Braun in 2021 to be resurrected from death to invent the first Space Shuttle.

Yup! Some newbs posting in the wrong area are just like a mudkrab.

Mudkrabs picking through the dead fish on the beach for good parts. The folks who want to play the games with mods have to pick through what is remains in the guides. Archives going back to 1999 if you want to do a really thorough search to find the good stuff and leave the scrap they don't and won't work in vanilla games like we would like them to.

I just picked through all the guidelines of The Midnight Ride a post in the search engine showed in the description so I didn't have to open the page with anything more and sign into a new Forum. It turned out The Midnight Ride page gave me links all pointing right back here to www dot Nexusmods dot com..

A salty old sailor that uses cuss words can cause people who have ears close enough to hear them to tune out and miss the fact he's selling fish fresher then the others on the dock because he just caught them and he's cussing because the others selling fish have fish that are already getting rank smelling.

I always follow my nose when it comes to fish, and now, if I want to have fun with mods I am just testing them out to see if they will WORK with todays fancy computer technology. Some of them MODs, for Fallout games, and others like MORROWIND, were made back in 2002.
