Battle damage based on health?

Now I know that combat as of now has a bit in the way of battle damage, applying a blood texture to places that get hit and whatnot, but what I'm thinking about here is a series of "wounded" textures applied over your standard skin texture based on what percentage of health you currently have. So an unhurt player would have nothing, a player at 75% would be bruised and scuffed a bit, a player at 50% would have those more spread and numerous, 25% would be bleeding from the mouth, and a player at 10% would almost look like he/she just stepped out of a Hellraiser film.

 

I'm stupid when it comes to modding this game, so how hard would this concept be to implement? Anyone care to give it a shot?
