Strange Main Quest Happenings

hullo, first post here!

anywho, i was playing thru the pc version, and after caius gave me the "Mission to Vivec" where you have to contact 3 people and ask them about the Nevarine Cult and the Sixth House, -----WHOAH!!! i just realized why its the sixth house, because there are 5 Great Houses.....sorry, got off track....anyway, i decided "Heck, ill take a break from the main quest and complete the Redoran stuff, and get my stronghold. anyway, im archmaster of Redoran now, and i decided "Hey, ill complete the main quest now i think"

well, i go back to caius, and he tells me i need to go to Tel Fyr and get cured of corprus. makes absolutely no sense, and i cant get him to realize i have the information from the three informants, which is as far as ive gotten in the main quest (at least in this game, ive defeated Dagoth Ur about 4 times i think)

i did meet with diavyth fyr, and he asked me about a dwemer artifact i had, and i gave it to him because i needed to improve his disposition, in order to find out where he was holding a councilor of Redoran's daughter, cant remember which one, she was behind a golden door with lock level 60 and with a trap. of course, he didn't tell me this, but i didnt know he wouldnt at the time.

so is there any command i can input in the console to reset the whole main quest, or even better, to just after i get the info from the three informants?

or, even better, a way to go about it where i wouldnt have to mess with the console, because in previous experiences when using it to fix stuff, it just messes stuff up even more.

thanx

Welcome to the boards, buddy. Stay active, ask smart questions and give smart answers. If you've played through the game four times, you've already got a lot of information to share. Just stick with proper English and manners, and you'll do fine.

After you get the information from the three informants, don't you have to go directly to Holamayon? I don't quite remember. You might want to read through the information they gave you for any hints as to where to go next. Of course, you could just go do what Caius tells you and hope for the best.

No, there are actually seven Great Houses: Hlaalu, Redoran, Telvanni, Indoril, Dres, Dagoth and the Dwemer house.

The Hlaalu are the master diplomats and negotiators, and, as such, they have very close ties to both House Dres and House Indoril. The Redorans are the warriors and crusaders of the bunch, which ties them to Indoril. The Telvanni are the elitist sorcerors, and they pretty much disassociate themselves from any affiliations to the other houses or clans. House Indoril is closely linked to both the Tribunal and the Imperial cult, which ties them in with House Dres. House Dres is the old name for the Dren family, which has become almost completely corrupt. While one Dren sits as the lord of the land, the other Dren is in charge of almost all of Vvardenfell's black market. Thus, they have ties to basically all of the other Great Houses.

The Dwemer house is long gone, due to events that took place in the past age. I cannot give you any information about House Dagoth, but you'll figure it out.

Oh, this is all off of the top of my head, so if there are any errors, keep it to yourself.

Dwemer was not actually a Great House though, was it? i always thought it was just another race...of course, i havnt read very much of the literature, maybe i should do that....

and the Sixth House was what that was called, because it was basically a perversion of the Five Great Houses of Tamriel, Hlaalu, Telvanni, Redoran, Indoril, and Dres, but officially i dont think it was a Great House, just something Dagoth Ur added on the the 5 Great Houses and said "Hey I think I'll call it Sixth House Cult because there are 5 already"

of course, you could be right.....ill look thru some of the morrowind literature to be sure.

absolutely amazing how much depth this game has.

you couldnt do everything in it during a lifetime.

but anywho, anyone have an answer to my question?

also, i cant get cured of corprus, if i dont have it!!!!!!

edit: o yeah, i was assuming Sixth HOuse/House Dagoth were the one and the same, correct me if im wrong, not too sure on that...

ok i was sort of right then.

anyway, on my new character, a nord named Garet Jax (kudos to anyone who knows what that name is from) i was talking to hasphat antabolis (the dude in the fighters guild that wants the puzzle box from arckinthand or something like that) and he mentions seven houses, guess i never caught that before.

never really considered House Dagoth or House Dwemer, although House Dagoth should have been obvious, feel a bit stupid, lol, considering the Sixth House is a major part of the main quest....of course, i did just realize the whole meaning of Sixth House on my first post....

anyway, the one that was so screwed up was basically just a recreation of my argonian on my xbox game, so i dont really care if its screwed up.

If you are playing on PC you can probably use addtopic in the dialogue window. Open the dialogue, bring up the console and type the right topic as addtopic"*****"

Usually these are how the quests appear in the journal so you can try

Vivec Informants

Zansubani Informant

Meet Sul-Matuul

Sixth House Base.

Hope this works.

okay, i tried this, but when i have the dialog box open, and type it, it still does not appear in his topic list. do i need to reference him or something?

and he still thinks i have corprus. i think this has something to do with me talking with diavyth fyr about corprus before i got the quest from caius, but im not sure.

You must say goodbye and reopen the dialogue box befor you can tell if the topic is added. However as it is the main quest the info I gave you on what to type in may be incorrect.

Have you gone to see the three informants in Vivec to see whether they recognise you as being asked to do a quest? If not I'm not sure what you can do!
