CTD after trying to change gender in new game

The title says it all, I've tried several custom races so far and they all do the same thing. Anyone ever have this problem before, or better yet; anyone know how to solve this?

This is quite common, especially if you're using hair mods like Apachii or eye mods like Covereyes etc.

 

One way to get around this problem would be to accept just the first character that appears in the character menu and to change it later inside the dungeon via 'Showracemenu', but this might CTD too.

 

If you don't have too much mods loaded you might on the other hand use either e.g. the 'Start as...' mod
