Help with Mod Load Order

Hey guys I'm new to modding Skyrim so I need some help. I turned off Vsync for Skyrim in the Nvidia Control Panel because I was stuck at 30 frames per second. I did the tweaks recommended by Nvidia for the game in Skyrimprefs.ini and Nvidia Control Panel. Including Ambient Occlusion turned On, Anisotropic Filtering to 16x (though I do not understand why I have to change this setting in Nvidia Control Panel when I can change it in Skyrim), Shadow Quality .ini tweaks, Tree Self Shadowing .ini tweak, and the uGrids .ini tweaks.

 

My mod load order is as follows:

BOSS for load order. Pay attention to the warnings it gives. You will need to address all of them.

I have BOSS and ran it. It is saying that the official update.esm and dlcs contain dirty edits and needs TES5Edit. Is that normal? There are also 5 Bash Tag suggestion(s): {{BASH: Delev, Relev}}. What are those? Under "SFO - Expanded Diversity.esp" it says "Note: Uninstall old version of Skyrim Flora Overhaul if using SFO - Expanded Diversity.esp" However, the official mod page says "Skyrim Flora Overhaul.esp can be disabled completetly for better performance, this will remove the additional ground covers except those added in SFO - Expanded Diversity (which is an .esp that is required for the mod to work)." So I'm confused. BOSS also says there's an issue with SoS patches for CoT, but the official mod page says to install both patches.

The DLC having dirty edits is normal, and they should be cleaned.

Bash tags can be ignored unless you're a modder. At least, I've never paid them any attention.

You can also ignore the comment about SFO. It's only for if you had an older version of it, before Vurt added the 'SFO - Expanded Diversity.esp' along with the 'Skyrim Flora Overhaul.esp'.

BOSS is rather out of date due to the people working on it being very backlogged, so the comments about the SoS plugins can be ignored.

The bash tags are there because those mods are modifying leveled lists. If there are 2 or more mods modifying the same leveled list then only the changes from the one later on your load order will take effect. That is why they show that, and you should make a bashed patch using Wrye Bash.

 

For the ini fixes i would recommend looking at STEP here on the nexus or directly for the guide here: http://wiki.step-project.com/STEP:2.2.5. I try to read and follow the recommendations from STEP and i can have a stable modded skyrim for the most part.

I have done it and I don't seem to have taken much of a fps hit. I'm using an i7 3770k cpu, 8gb ram, and a GTX 680 gpu.

It's not about FPS hit... you have a 2GB vid card... (probably) if you start to load high res HD whatever big ass textures in it, you will fill that up sooner than you think and causing you either major slowdowns or complete crashes... uGrids greatly increases the amount of textures you will load into memory. Skyrim is just a 32 Bit application so it takes near to zero advantage of your 8GB RAM and your i7 CPU (Skyrim is not very CPU dependant, any quad core is enough). However your GPU&VRAM will be your deciding factor in how far you can go.

 

You can go ahead with it, just be aware that if you ever run into issues and crashes the very first thing you should do is set uGrids back to the default settings...
