I hate Windows LIVE

GFWL is a real piece of work. It did have some potential, but now it's just dead weight and lines of hoops that PC gamers have to jump through. It doesn't really enhance any elements of a game, achievements have been done better by Steam and integrated into the game (F.E.A.R. 2), and GFWL doesn't really have anything else going for it. Games like GTA IV have just frustrated consumers with the incredibly annoying Rockstar Social Club and GFWL integration, and making the Fallout 3 DLC available only by GFWL is a bad choice.

Everything about GFWL is bad.

To sum it up, it's basically just a bad, faulty clone of Steam. I would have liked to see the DLC available from Steam, instead of this piece of cr*p. The "Microsoft Points" feature is just ridiculous.

So I hate it too, guys, I hate it too.

Windows live is a useless waste of time. It makes your pc have an xbox feel, and I hate that.

I have a 360 and it's not...fun anymore. I played the bejesus out of it when I first got it, but

at this point it's lost it's appeal. I don't want my pc turning into the same hunk of garbage.

Aside from that, the fact that we now have to pay for dlc is a load, because we

can get thousands of free mods, and free games...but we have to buy these?

The sad part is, we're going to start seeing programs like Windows Live and Steam all the more often from now on. It's just to easy for developers to make our lives difficult so that they can try, unsuccessfully, to stop piracy.

I can understand why WLive could make my life difficult, but I've never had problems with Steam. I support Steam all the way. It's never made my life difficult in any way. Heck, it's even made things a lot easier, because I don't have to get up and go to EBGames to buy a game I want. I just type in my info on Steam, and in a few hours, I'll play the game, without even getting up from my seat. The number of games on Steam are growing every day. I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes the dominant form of gaming. The best thing is, Steamworks nullifies the use of DRM, as it has a built-in feature, and Steam-only games don't get pirated as fast, thus that means no zero-day torrents. Steam is the future.

Sure steams great if your an American, Europe/Britain got really screwed on the curreny conversion why the hell would i pay more than retail price? And i cant stand either or any of this digital distribution crap, one of the things i like about gaming is my collection a small thing but i enjoy having a game in my pile. I hate having to be online to have any access to a singleplayer game why can I not use them on my damned laptop -_-

Why cant it just be like the old days, game is released, you get the disk install and be done find another damn security method or stick to cd keys, or at the very least give me the option to not need to use your cleverly dressed spyware programs

You can play in offline mode on Steam. And I don't know of any cleverly dressed spyware programs masquerading as DRM.

This whole DRM thing is ballooned up anyway. I hear people whining about DRM all the time, while it isn't a tremendous hassle. SecuRom, etc, they don't do anything to your comp. They just serve to deter piracy (although I believe it serves more to deter zero-day downloads, which really cripple sales). Some games overdo DRM (BioShock, Spore), but most games with DRM don't ruin my life. Although I too prefer the old methods, things change, and you have to go with the flow.

We really dont, look at what happened to EA with spore due to all the outraged torrent dowloads, companies only make a profit aslong as the consumers are content amd im sure there is alot of miscontent out there they conform to our wish not the other way around. You can still make a massive profit without any of this crap look at Blizzard sure wow gives them a huge chunk every month and I dislike the way they are going but atleast they dont use these scupulous "security" methods.

But WoW is a multiplayer game. Multiplayer games don't get pirated frequently, as the only way you can play them are through the use of private servers solely for piraters. Single-player-only games like BioShock need DRM, so that they at least have some form of protection.

Anyway, I disapprove of WoW's monthly fee, and since I got tired of the game 2 years back, I just ditched it and didn't play again.
