BlahDog
I've been randomly freezing and I think Skyre is causing the bug, but every time I freeze up, the last entry in the Papyrus log is:"warning: Property xxxsneakTouchOfCalamity on script xxxMagicSneak attached to Active effect 4 on (FF001020) cannot be initialized because the script no longer contains that property"or:"warning: Property xxxsneakArcaneAssassin on script xxxMagicSneak attached to Active effect 4 on (FF001020) cannot be initialized because the script no longer contains that property" Since I know that Skyre adds these scripted effects and I don't know if any of my other mods might cause this, I can only conclude that Skyre is the problem (although I am not 100% certain)To try and troubleshoot the issue I have:-Started a new game (to no avail)-Uninstalled/reinstalled all mods (no effect here)I have not:-Systematically deactivated mods to find a culprit (Considering the crashes are completely random, I considered this a complete last resort because I don't want to play for a few hours (or more) just to find out I didn't fix the problem.) wolfsangeleyes
I'm afraid I don't have advice nor a fix for you but I can tell you that about a week ago my game was randomly freezing as well and I do not use Skyre. I had to use task manager to exit the game and after a while even that didn't work anymore. There was nothing left to do but unplug the power supply to my pc.This all happened around the time I had trouble launching the game using the SKSE Launcher. I kept getting load error codes (by logging out and back into Steam I was able to launch the game)Both problems mysteriously disappeared a couple of days ago. No idea why. I thought I'd just let you know that I experience the same but don't have Skyre. Everything is up to date, I do not use any ENB's and don't have that many mods (mostly armours and jewelry)Sorry, not very helpful is it
prod80
"cannot be initialized because the script no longer contains that property" You can ignore it, not related to the crashes (or anything harmful). Papyrus log is not a crash log. You do have a lot of mods, and besides - Sneak Tools is integrated in SkyRe, so you do not need it. Check the SkyRe manual, the big one with 100+ pages ( http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/33995/ ) 2nd last page or so you can find the integrated mods. I do not know if using both together causes CTD but I highly doubt it. Anyway... some more info would be nice. Load order is ok (tho you have a lot of scripted things! can cause problems..), can you also post your skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini from My Documents\My Games\Skyrim ? Just to have a quick look what's in there.
BlahDog
Thanks for the replies. @prod80:I have sneak tools installed because skyre, while it does integrate it, nerfed it to the point where the creator of sneak tools said they were different. The creator also said that the two worked fine together as long as sneak tools was loaded after Skyre. Here are my ini files:On top of some misc. edits (like changing the crosshair location) I added some things that supposedly help with multi-threading and some stuff that would help with papyrus crashes (both after the freezing started). Neither helped with the feezing though, but I just left them in.Skyrim.ini [backgroundLoad]bBackgroundLoadLipFiles=1bLoadBackgroundFaceGen=1bUseMultiThreadedFaceGen=1bBackgroundCellLoads=1bLoadHelmetsInBackground=1bUseMultiThreadedTrees=1bUseBackgroundFileLoader=1 [Animation]bMultiThreadBoneUpdate=1 [HAVOK]iNumThreads=4 [General]bUseThreadedParticleSystem=1bUseThreadedBlood=1bUseThreadedMorpher=1bUseThreadedTempEffects=1bUseThreadedTextures=1bUseThreadedMeshes=1bUseThreadedLOD=1bUseThreadedAI=1bUseThreadedMorpher=1sLanguage=ENGLISH uExterior Cell Buffer=64sIntroSequence=iLargeIntRefCount=262144fFlickeringLightDistance=8192uGridsToLoad=7 [Decals]bDecalMultithreaded=1 [Display]fShadowLODMaxStartFade=1000.0fSpecularLODMaxStartFade=2000.0fLightLODMaxStartFade=3500.0iShadowMapResolutionPrimary=2048bAllowScreenshot=1fSunShadowUpdateTime=0fSunUpdateThreshold=2.0fDecalLifetime=512.0 [Audio]fMusicDuckingSeconds=6.0fMusicUnDuckingSeconds=8.0fMenuModeFadeOutTime=3.0fMenuModeFadeInTime=1.0 [Grass]bAllowCreateGrass=1bAllowLoadGrass=0iMinGrassSize=40 iMaxGrassTypesPerTexure=6 [GeneralWarnings]SGeneralMasterMismatchWarning=One or more plugins could not find the correct versions of the master files they depend on. I've asked around on the Skyre forums and the creator said that the script issue wouldn't cause a crash but one user said that it was apparently a mod conflict because he fixed his problem after removing a bunch of mods (of course he neglected to tell me which mods he got rid of). So right now I'm in the process of getting rid of some of my mods hoping that my game finally fixes itself. Although with the freezing being random, it's hard to tell if my game is actually fixed or I just haven't gotten to a point where it would break again. Thanks for all the help. prod80
See if setting uGrids back to default resolves the problem... I see many issues regarding it. Even tho many websites say uGrids @ 7 is stable and above is not, they are still speaking about an unmodded Skyrim. When you mod it you can pretty much guess that uGrids stats to be unstable a lot earlier. uGridsToLoad=7 is almost 2 times heavier for the Skyrim engine (and your system) and this can be a cause for instability. Check if setting this helps; uGridsToLoad=5uExterior Cell Buffer=36 You need to follow a process to reset your savegame back to a smaller ugrids value; Load the game with your old ini where the uGrids value is 7Open consoleInput: setini "ugridstoload:general" 5Input: saveiniInput: refreshiniInput: save "ugrids to 5"Quit gameOpen Skyrim.ini and change the uGrids/Buffer values back to defaultOpen Skyrim and load your ugrids to 5 savegameSave again There's a ton of mods on Skyrim to make distant terrain look a lot better... here's a few that really help (especially if you use Skyrim HD textures...) Enhanced Distant Terrain by SparrowPrince | http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/1598/High Quality LODs by Ethatron | http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/4834/Distant Decal Fix by SparrowPrince | http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/31982/ Edit: I am not saying it a definite cause, but you should rule it out at least before you start to mess around with activating/deactivating mods which can cause very serious harm to your save games. BlahDog
Actually, I seem to remember something saying that setting ugrids to 7 actually helped performance or at least something other than aesthetics. I knew that ugrids affected detail at a distance so I was skeptical about how it could improve anything. Ultimately, I never saw an incredible decrease in performance so I just kept it on. I can't remember if that was before or after the freezes but I'll revert it just in case. Also, I already started a new game (only about 1 hour in) after I removed a few of my mods. Honestly I'm glad I started over, I missed out on a lot in the beginning.
prod80
yea, actually the game start is better than the end-game...You become overpowered fast :\ Mainly due to Sneak and NPCs being generally stupid. I wish someone would make a mod to cap Sneak @ 10 or 20% less chance to be detected or so... seriously, standing in front of 5 NPCs (literally within 2 meters) and not being seen because you have Sneak at 50% (SkyRe's maximum) and added 1 ring with 10% extra and being muffled is just completely gay. I'd rather have the whole thing 'Less chance to be detected %' removed entirely and replaced by something else which requires skill to use instead of pressing control to become virtually invisible in plain sight. While being at it, muffled should be dropped as well and should be an armor properly (clothes 80% muffled, light armor 50% muffled, heavy armor no muffle no matter the perks (you CANNOT sneak around in plate armor, geez))

Leveling up stealth shouldn't make you better at sneaking (per se) but should give you more tools and opportunities to sneak. Unfortunately, TES series is unlikely to stray far from the 0-"God of All Things Sneaky" any time soon, but hopefully the AI will improve at least. Maybe if we're lucky, Bethesda might even learn from Dishonored and make stealth more like that. Edited May 24, 2013 by BlahDog
