Nexus Mods and Vortex not worth the effort anymore.

Since it seems that what worked before no longer works now and what once was will never be again.

I am removing ALL mods down loaded by Vortex and from Nexus as now you can no longer use them.

 

Getting errors like:

BLAHBLAHBLAH_Meshes.bsa is loaded by BLAHBLAHBLAH.ems, but is intended for use in Oblivion.

 

2 weeks ago everything worked fine and I changed nothing.

I have spent the last week trying to see what the problem is.

I uninstalled and reinstalled everything, the only time FO3 works is in straight out vanilla mode.

No mods, no patches, no nothing.

 

Thank you for ruining the experience.

I'll go back to a deck of cards and an etch-a-sketch. At least I know they work.

I had a very similar message to this today. Quite head scratching really. I have no idea what the hell is going on with Vortex at all with the crazy messages I am getting.

As the warning say, you've got a BSA that claims it's made for Oblivion but you're trying to use this BSA in another game. Trying to use for another game has 3 possibilities:

1: BSA crashes the game.

2: BSA is not loaded at all.

3: BSA is successfully loaded and you can continue using BSA even it claims to be for another game. It's possible where are some kind of penalties for using BSA, but you can still use the BSA.

 

So, did you try to run the game with the bad BSA? Did the game crash, did the game run but BSA did not load, or does everything seem to work ok? If the last, chances are you don't need to do anything at all.

its not head scratching at all. it's very self explanatory. all you need to do is read. you can also search these forums and find a lot of threads on it and what to do about it (takes about 5 minutes).

So, this is actually part of what I was expecting. Some overly smart someone says I didn't read, yet the evidence is clear.

The Mods were down loaded from the FO3 mod site over 2 years ago, they are FO3 mods. It specifies in the setup instructions for these mods to place them in your FO3 folder.

So I hope this thread stays up when I leave because this is a useless endeavor at this point.

Keep your sanctimonious comments about not reading to yourself.

Ooof.

Nothing broke there, nothing stopped working. Vortex is simply warning that the bsas were built with tools for another game and they are not compatible and often the game will crash with incompatible bsas.

 

Vortex is simply warning you that there may be problems and if there are, what the source is. It's not causing any new issues it's simply making you aware of more to give you more guidance in case of trouble. It's not stopping you from playing.

If you've tested these mods and they work you can just ignore the warning.

Given that some users panic easily, I would sort of like to see these messages under a warning level setting.

And maybe don't show them at all for old games like Oblivion and Fallout.
