xJohnxConnerx Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Whenver I install a new mod(I have all DLC's) it adds in the plugins file(the notepad file that shows the name of the Plugins)skyrim.esmSkyrim.esmNow, whenever I launch with these, it crashes.but when I remove theSkyrim.esmfrom the text, it works. Now, I want install Mods via the Nexus Mod Manager(as of Downloading via the manager) it adds theSkyrim.esmto the list. But when I install it manually via the Nexus Mod Manger(As, downloading through Firefox's download manager, then installing it manually via the Nexus mod manager), the bug doesn't appear. It's really wierd, is there anyway I could fix this?Maybe reinstalling Nexus Mod Manager will fix this? Thanks in advance.P.s:Sorry if there's any grammar/spelling mistakes, English isn't my first language.
prod80 Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 you mean inside the file plugins.txt ?Remove both Skyrim.esm files from there (it shouldnt be in there) and save & close, that should fix it... start Skyrim through NMM by whatever means you need (Launcher, SKSE, etc)
xJohnxConnerx Posted May 22, 2013 Author Posted May 22, 2013 you mean inside the file plugins.txt ? Remove both Skyrim.esm files from there (it shouldnt be in there) and save & close, that should fix it... start Skyrim through NMM by whatever means you need (Launcher, SKSE, etc)I mean that.I've looked in the data files and I only see Skyrim.esm, and in the plugins.txt whenever I install a mod via NMM, it adds Skyrim.esm to list of Plugins in plugins.txt.I delete the Skryim.esm from the plugins list, and leave skyrim.esmI mean, i could simply ignore this bug, But I do feel it's easier installing(and of course, downloading via NMM) then downloading from Firefox then add it to NMM.
prod80 Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 no, just remove both instances of Skyrim.esm from there :) Start skyrim from NMM After that does it still happen?
xJohnxConnerx Posted May 22, 2013 Author Posted May 22, 2013 (edited) no, just remove both instances of Skyrim.esm from there  Start skyrim from NMM After that does it still happen?Still there whenever I download/install via NMM... Edited May 22, 2013 by xJohnxConnerx
xJohnxConnerx Posted May 22, 2013 Author Posted May 22, 2013 but NMM is still creating duplicate entries?Whenever I install, it just adds these entries into the plugin.txtskyirm.esmSkyrim.esmWhich one should I delete?Should I re-install NMM?
prod80 Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Skyrim.esm should not even be in plugins.txt (the list should start with Update.esm)... Just reading a bit about it... have SKSE by any chance? There's a few users reporting that SKSE is causing this for them since they updated to the newest version of it. On the other hand I use NMM + SKSE and I dont have this issue.
prod80 Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 REading a bit, came across this... "I'm not sure what everyone's solution was, but this was mine:Run NMM and click "Reset Invalidation" // this is under optionsLocate appdata/local/skyrim/plugins.txt as well as loadorder.txtDelete both files completely. // I would not delete, rather just backup... then again, Recycler is kind of a backup :pRun NMM to load plugins.Run TES5Edit to see if I still got 2 Skyrim.esm files loaded (Which it didn't)Tested it by adding a new mod, closed NMM and TES5Edit, reopened NMM (so that it adds to the plugin.txt), and then ran TES5Edit.No problems. Still only 1 Skyrim.esm file."
