sohaibsaeed94
I try to add items using the player.additem command. The top left corner tells me it has added the item however it is not in my inventory but it is using up weight. Any idea what is wrong. Thanks in advance. Hyacathusarullistad
... no. Player level, gender, race, or lack of perks will never make an item invisible in the inventory screen. There is no "hide unequippable" option in Skyrim. You can use any equippable item any time you want - a level 1 player in Helgen Keep can wield a Daedric Sword of Scorching if they use the console or a mod to get one. There are no hard gender requirements in Skyrim either; and while some modded items are created for specific genders, races, etc. there's nothing stopping a male from using a modded armour made for females. It will simply display as something else, usually the item the modder duplicated in the CK to get started or, failing that, the body itself will go invisible when the armour is equipped. But it will always display in the inventory menu. The problem you're having is that some items share a name with items that are actually never acquirable in game and are only used by NPCs in cutscenes or for clutter/scenery, etc. There are several items like this. When you enter help "item name" 4 into the console, all these items are displayed, not just the ones the player can use. When you search for the item with the help command, try picking other items from the list it gives you. Or, alternatively, look up the item on the UESP and enter the item code given there.
