  1. What problems do you have with EO and crossbows? Works fine on my end.
  2. Also, quest items don't contribute to your carry weight regardless of the weight displayed in the inventory screen.
  3. You can actually build a system that can run Skyrim comfortably, with a modest but respectable mod setup, for around $500 USD. CPU: Intel Pentium G3258 3.2GHz Dual-Core Processor ($62.10 @ SuperBiiz) Motherboard: MSI H81M-P33 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($42.99 @ Directron) Memory: Kingston 4GB (1 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($25.11 @ SuperBiiz) Storage: Seagate Barracuda 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($38.66 @ SuperBiiz) Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB Black Edition Video Card ($158.99 @ SuperBiiz) Case: HEC Enterprise MicroATX Mid Tower Case ($25.20 @ SuperBiiz) Power Supply: SeaSonic S12II 520W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($53.10 @ SuperBiiz) Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit) ($86.99 @ NCIX US) Total: $493.14, including taxes and shipping. For an extra $100, you could upgrade the processor to an i5-4460 instead.
  4. After a quick scan of the console commands listed on the UESP, there's no console command that can bring up this value. I could have sworn at one point there was, but my memory is by no means perfect.
  5. I download mods in spurts when I start a new playthrough, and it's definitely easy to simply forget to return to the mod page and endorse a mod you enjoyed when you download a dozen of them in a day. But removing the wait period is a bad idea, for the reasons Ben's already outlined. And tinkering with it to make it needlessly complicated or more flexible seems unnecessary. Instead, what about a system that reminds people to come back and endorse a mod? Say, 48 hours after they download a mod, they get a notification on the Nexus linking them back to the mod page to leave an endorsement if they liked it. The time could be configurable, too, for those that would prefer to be reminded as soon as the wait period is over instead of days later.
  6. The command you want is set playerfollowercount to 0.
  7. This mod lets you join the Circle without becoming a werewolf yourself, among other changes.
  8. Considering how this so-called "community" treated some of the people who shaped it into what it is today? I wouldn't blame anyone for stepping out after all this.
  9. This is not a shaming thread. Any shame you feel is your own. This thread exists to pre-empt the countless "WHERE DID THIS MOD GO?!" threads that would pop up without this information being readily accessible. I think Caithe covered anything else I may have had to say more succinctly than I could have hoped to.
  10. Well, that's weird. I will leave it up there for now pending any changes. But if it remains gone for a bout a week, then I will take it off the list. Chesko has removed all his content from the Workshop and does not intend to put it back.
  11. I believe the Skyforge Weapons and Skyforge Shields mods have been removed by the author to prevent them from being stolen and moved to the Workshop. At least, that's what I'm going to hope for the time being, at any rate. It's too early to say, I think, which "side" most authors are going to land in this matter. Unless they specifically announce such a move (which the author of the Skyforge Weapons and Shields mods has not yet done; and it's worth noting that his Dragonbone Ebonsteel armour is still here), all you're doing by speculating is stirring the vicious, angry pot that is the Internet. Not saying this thread is a bad idea, just that we should limit its inclusions to authors who have made clear their positions and intentions, and keep things as factual as possible for the sake of the knowledge itself, not for the sake of criticising or attacking authors or creating a "black list" of mods/authors. The only authors I'm aware of who intend to move continuing production to the Workshop are isoku, who's left fully stable, functional versions of two of his mods here on the Nexus and posted new versions to the Workshop -- note that he has not moved his entire set of work there, given no reason for us to believe he'll do so, and has in fact posted a merged version of some of his "lesser" (for lack of a better term) projects into a single mod that's currently sitting in the Hot Files; and Chesko, who's announced his intentions to maintain a temporary period of Steam-exclusivity for both new and existing projects based on those he collaborates with for any given mod, but is not removing any of his existing mods from the Nexus.
  12. So four months later with no response sort of seems like a no-brainer, but I am in fact still interested in getting this started. Is there a specific reason, something I've done incorrectly, that's keeping people away? Or is it just not of sufficient interest?
  13. ... you're not serious, are you? Falksaar is a marvellous achievement, second to none in dungeon design for sure. But the story is... yeah, sorry, I couldn't disagree with you more on that.
  14. Not really that bad, if it for skyrim only it would do fine. But try ones from the link ( scroll down.) http://www.reddit.com/r/PCMasterRace/wiki/builds Apart from the motherboard, actually, the build I've got isn't all that different than what that link suggests for a "Next-Gen Crusher" build. Keep in mind that the prices listed for my build are in $CAD, whereas the builds you linked to are $USD. Adjusted for that, the parts I have are roughly the same price and have nearly identical specs, from what I can tell; in some cases better (albeit marginally).
  15. So I've made a few changes to my build. In fact, I've pretty much swapped out everything, aiming for value more than anything. CPU: AMD Athlon X4 860K 3.7GHz Quad-Core Processor ($88.25 @ DirectCanada) -- The i5 is definitely nice, but the Athlon has very similar specs and is about a third of the price. It's the GPU that will make the difference in gaming anyway. And the savings might let me upgrade to an i7 in another two years, too. Motherboard: ASRock FM2A88M PRO3+ Micro ATX FM2+ Motherboard ($87.26 @ DirectCanada) -- Not a significant savings or improvement to the Gigabyte, but it will do everything I need it to do for about $20 less. Video Card: MSI Radeon R9 280 3GB TWIN FROZR Video Card ($249.98 @ Newegg Canada) -- This was the hardest call, especially since it doesn't come with Nvidia's Witcher 3 offer. But in the end, 3GB>2GB, and this one has a significantly larger/higher bus. Total: $425.49, down from $577.something. A substantial savings for a very similar machine that will more than run Skyrim at optimal settings even better than my existing setup, which is what I should have been comparing to all along rather than comparing to modern benchmarks. Any thoughts or recommendations?
  16. I'm not afraid to overclock per se, but I am concerned about overdoing it without some kind of cooling system (at the moment it just uses standard fans, no dedicated cooling features). When you say it's easy to do with the EVGA, how easy are we talking? My AMD APU had overclock options built into its settings, and was hella easy to use. Does the EVGA have something similar?
  17. I think my first time dying was in Helgen, to be honest. If not then it was wolves or something. I honestly can't remember.
  18. I likely define "futureproof" differently (and more forgivingly) than the gaming community. I should use the term less, probably. So long as it lasts me the next three to four years (five would be fantastic) then I'll be content. Especially if in that time I'll be able to mod Skyrim to the extent that I'd like -- I think it was the mods that finally killed my poor AMD A6. I plan to stick to 2K textures rather than 4K (quantity = overall quality, overall quality > specific quality) and plan to add to/replace my RAM in and around June/July. Because I think my RAM is getting shaky too. I'll have to play it by ear, TBH.
  19. I ended up seeking help on reddit and G+ as well, and effectively received a crash course in basic computer hardware. I can't say a lot of it stuck, but I did manage to make what I feel to be an informed decision on a new upper mid-range setup: Intel Core i5-4460 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor (currently running and AMD A6 APU at 2.60GHz) EVGA GeForce GTX 960 2GB Video Card (integrated APU; Radeon 6670 graphics) Gigabyte GA-H97M-D3H Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard. (ASUS motherboard; not sure of the model offhand) Sticking with my existing 2x4GB DDR3 RAM and 500W PSU. The guy who assembled my current machine is a family friend. He's the son of my parents' best friends, and I've always disliked the guy. He and my brother get along better though, and my brother chose and paid for the parts on this guy's recommendations. Needless to say, the guy is definitely not my computer guy of choice. I received my machine with no power chord (I'm convinced he snaked it just because he could), inactive USB3 ports, and a 500GB HDD I didn't even know about until a year later when I took it into a shop to fix the USB ports. Apparently it hadn't been mapped properly, so had literally just been sitting in the case collecting dust for a year before they set it up correctly. Free of charge, I might add, because the USB3 ports were so fudged up that they couldn't fix it; since they couldn't fix what I wanted them to, they fixed what they found wrong and told me to keep my money. They're my computer guys now. All that being said, I did say "relatively" future proof. I've gotten 3600+ hours of Skyrim out of my current machine in the last three-ish years. I don't feel it owes me anything anymore to be honest. I've currently got an AMD A6 APU (I forget the precise model at the moment) with Radeon 6670 integrated graphics. I'm swapping the APU for a CPU and GPU instead, for flexibility's sake (see above). I've also got 2x4GB DDR3 RAM, which I don't expect to replace or upgrade in the foreseeable future. Don't see the point, really. I did in fact end up going with an i5 processor, but chose the 960 instead of the 970 for the GPU. I found the EVGA model on sale, which has no reports of "faults" (I'm aware that the 970 is not truly faulty; but still) and is coming with a free copy of Witcher 3. I also found that the 970 would require me to upgrade my PSU, which I didn't feel was worth doing right now. I'm on a budget, after all; upper mid-range is fine for my purposes.
  20. So I'm pretty competent with computers when it comes to software and that kind of maintenance, but hardware stuff is beyond me. I'm hoping the good folks here at the Nexus will be able to help. The PC I have now was assembled for me as a gaming PC for Christmas 2011. It was intended to be relatively future-proof, and it's been good to me -- as I understand it, it would still be considered a mid-range rig by today's standards. But I'm starting to have graphical, lag, and crash issues with even a lightly modded (~50-75 plugins with only 5-15 1K texture mods) set up. So I suspect it's time for me to upgrade, but I have no idea where to begin. To such a point where I don't even know where to begin to ask for help -- I don't even know what information about my system people would need in order to offer recommendations. So I'm in your hands, Nexus. Any help or guidance you can offer would be appreciated. And please feel free to talk to me like you would your grandmother when describing this stuff, too. I'm about as competent as she is, to be honest.
  21. In response to post #23050014. #23050444, #23050984, #23053524, #23054249 are all replies on the same post. @Eiries: Some people want to be able to hide mods by authors who aren't actually mod authors at all, but merely those who translate mods to their own native language and share the result. While that's certainly an worthwhile pursuit that I would never dream of asking the Nexus to put a stop to on my account, I don't need to see supercento's string of uploads every time he gets a few days off and converts his favourite mods to Spanish. I don't speak Spanish, so I'm never going to need his uploads. You appear to think of yourself as a well-mannered reasonable human being. So I would respectfully request that you please consider your words more carefully before you post them rather than going off on a tangent about people you don't even know.
  22. In response to post #23050014. Then follow your own advice -- the solution is in your own hands: don't use it.
  23. I got a lot of use out of it, but haven't used it for almost a year now -- once I found a setup I liked, I removed the program to stop myself "tweaking" it endlessly.
  24. I always assumed it was the draugr themselves. They've been tasked with guarding the secrets of the dragon cult even after their death. That's why they were entombed there in the first place. It makes sense that with the return of the dragons and dragon priests, their servants would have begun preparing their worship sites for continued use.
