Computer Losing Internet Access

Im thinking the router is f*#@ed I may have to get my isp to sort it out, if that doesn't work just pay for a specialist to physically take a look at everything. My brain can't cope with all this nonsense.

 

Oh and now my Xbox 360 won't display my DVDs anymore starting today, will play the sound but not the picture instead it's the white xbox logo screen...and the only online solution I can find is "take apart the console and f*#@ around with the inner working so you void your guarantee with the store you bought it from".

Right well i'm still gonna post here just in case someone by some miracle can target the issue, here is an update from my last post.

 

I have been in touch with my ISP who reset my connection and IP, it didn't fix anything so they sent me a new router and cables. Didn't fix the problem.

 

I got an IT guy to come and check it out, who told me it does look like a problem on the actual desktop but he couldn't locate the problem...he also asked if I downloaded FO3 because there was a trojan in the directory even though it was a disc version :confused: He couldn't find the problem therefore nothing has been fixed despite lots of scans and anything else he did, he told me he would go away and think about it because it's bugging him why the problem isn't known...he didn't charge me in the end but I still paid him for his time.

 

Soooooo here is an update on what my problems are, if you know a fix please get back to me and keep in mind the issue is definitely on the actual deskop:

 

• Browser pages hang/take a long time to load/time out - same with Chrome, Firefox, and IE. The problem is random on some pages but consistent with others.
• Cannot upload files including small image files
• Cannot download large files, can download images
• Speedtests always time out
• MMO games hang and lag indefinitely forcing me to CAD out after any amount of playtime from a minute to over an hour, average is about 15 mins.
• Problems video streaming - sometimes not loading, sometimes buffering too much, sometimes no problem!

There's likely more issues I haven't found yet or forgot to mention but these are the main problems.

Have you tried one of the Linux Live CD's they contain a mini-OS on a disk (or should be able to put it on a USB stick with the right tools)? It'll contain a web browser that'll bypass Windows and you should be able to eliminate whether its hardware specific or not. If it is Windows specific then without access to the machine in question its hard for anyone to do much at this distance other than check Windows updates, make sure all drivers are up to date, scan for malware etc recommend scans with Malwarebytes Antimalware, Super Antispyware, if all else fails then its likely a reinstall of Windows is in order.

 

I did suspect the router, tried that, didn't help. Plus my phone gets a perfect signal with no delays.

 

What are your Router stats a high SNR would indicate an issue with the line. Voice isn't nearly as demanding as internet so a clear voice doesn't necessarily mean theres not at fault on the line.

This desktop will be squeaky clean, free of any bugs, like brand new. set up or see IF the internet system already connected.

 

If so, install malware bytes directly to the root of C:\ drive...not in Program files or folders and run it. scan the Entire PC...If there is a bug as the tech said was there? it will be the only way to remove it.

 

once done log off and log back into the older desktop. see what takes place...install nothing on the new profile just security software's only.

It looks like I have Malware Bytes already installed by the IT guy when he was working on it (he also installed Spybot Search and Destroy 2 I noticed), the "Malwarebytes Anti-Malware" folder is in program files (x86) though. Should I just copy and and paste this folder to C:\ ?

 

...weird thing just happened then when I searched and opened the spybot installer .exe file location, windows explorer stopped responding and needed to restart :huh:

system specs, you will need to boot up into safe mode to clear network's there won't be any internet under this mode for any bug, trogen, or virus to operate.

 

IF your running windows 8 or above? uninstall sybot2, that's not required.

 

In safe mode run Malware bytes from the Root of the drive...not from a protected folder...(x86) IS a protected folder.

 

spybot has a startup piece of code that WILL disconnect the internet and cause crashes as you described....you wasted your money. tip's are free.

 

Find Malware bytes download packages make sure you know where they are, even though internet IS required to install it...you need a pro to help you.

 

you need to login under other credentials that have zero malware loading.

 

options in spybot startup items..shut them all off.

Well I tried what you suggested, it found no threats.

 

I even got an IT pro to attempt to track down the problem, said it could be script causing the problem which would hard to track manually so tried formatting the hard drive and re-installing the OS (win7)...not fixed anything :facepalm:

so noted: I will watch for an update, weird. your post shows up on my phone so I will know.

If there was a game related "script? " That is something that would be useful to know about..we don't want that sort of thing taking place.

I ask because I have available to me 4 "nat's" I use, toggle between as speed and IP addresses.

 

service providers "throttle your connection speeds" and it is due to the type of service your paying for, the plan you have, so it may not be you or your PC....this sort of thing kinda sneaks up on the unwary user.

 

I Toggle my connections when I see this take place...I get hangs, service drop out's, bad downloads due to being cut off...BY Them.

 

I use cell technology, not cable...so there is NO modem "physically here" , but in stead I cycle the type of connections I have.

 

I own Unlimited access to the Internet, I also have free dial up...but that is slow going, requires a ton of programs to remove scripting behaviors from messing up my networks.

 

so I have both wireless and hard line direct connections. Tables use cell networks, the same phones do. IF you can afford it that is?

 

so again...what type of service do you use? it is most likely their system. Or your plan with them?
