triptherift
Not sure what you guys are doing wrong on your setups. At one point I was getting 50-90 fps outdoors, 90-160 indoors at 3840x2160 (4k screen resolution) . i7 4790 @ 4.0ghz, R9 295x, ENBoost, HD DLC packs, Purity for weather, textures. I just weed out all of the badly scripted mods, and/or write my own, stay away from grass/tree mods, etc. Just had a motherboard/cpu meltdown, fixed under warranty, when I got it back, the frame rates dropped (around 10-20%) for some reason, but still better than what you guys are talking about. I have a bunch of 4k pics from when I had my setup really finely tuned, posting a couple in the spoiler, heavily compressed here because they are 32mb each native. http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o113/triptherift/enb%202015_08_19%2013_30_09_03.jpghttp://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o113/triptherift/enb%202015_08_19%2013_28_32_03.jpghttp://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o113/triptherift/enb%202015_08_19%2013_31_45_16.jpg Edited November 22, 2015 by triptherift
ironbender800
You answered your own question. I cant speak for everyone else but i personally cant play skyrim without enb. That alone will drop your frames 30 to 40%. Purity has a MINIMAL impact on performance. Overall your running a very light setup in SLI so thats why you are getting those frames. The high res texture packs are also nothing. I play at 1080p with a FULL enb, weather, lighting, scripts, and quite a few textures and average a smooth mostly stutter free experience around 50fps outdoors. At 4k on a 970 there is NO WAY that would be possible.
triptherift
Once you've seen the game at 4k on a good screen, there is no going back...I'll live without an enb for now until the processors get better. 1080 resolution on a 4k monitor does not look good due to the stretching, and an enb doesn't help that. And looking at 4k resolution pictures on a 1080 monitor, you won't understand what I'm talking about - you don't see anything close to what I see. The stretching thing works both ways. Kriiks
Seen almost vanilla Skyrim at 4k, .... using Skyrim with enb and proper retextures at 1080 and for me 4k looks damn ugly tbh. You can't really add a lot better visuals there unless you want to run 30fps and not any amount of pixels wont make it remarkably better. But if someone is happy with it and trades it for more content and visual rich game, then why not, it's their opinion and choice ;)
