Begging for Load order assistance after two weeks of trying to stop the CTD's

Now, I will provide the results from inspecting your saved game file.

Tools i used:

  1. Fomm - forked version (FOMM v0.14.11.9) Link as above.
  2. java Program for system 32 (x86) (http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp) Offline installer for FO3Utility use.
  3. FO3 Plugin Utility by ScripterRon: (http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/download/78944) *.jar goes in Game data folder.
  4. FO3Edit by ElminsterAU: (http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/download/1000010393) used as an inspection tool only.
  5. Mod Organizer by Tannin: (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/download/1000144382) main tool interface,all ran thru this.
  6. Default GOTY FO3 Steam game.
  7. Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit. Laptop inspection only.

For consistencies, I used the saved game file in the Main default location for mo's use and Fomm's use so I could verify load order verses xedit's load up of esp data...data listed i the merged patch file as it loads.

each time the xedit program loads up and faults on missing data,,,AKA can't find plugin or master files, I run hot *.jar and create a blank file for a place holder and repeat untill I arrive to such a time and place the xedit will process all the data.

 

Heads up..this tells me "exactly" what is bing injected or modified if not found become visible....where as If the real data was to be present? then the data is "hidden" from you...there is a + to this. the merged patch was made with the same program "xedit".

So I am totally having a bit of information overload right this second, but I can honestly say that right now it really looks like pretty much every mod is messed up in some way shape or form lol. I know it isn't really every mod, but at this point it is starting to feel like it, that's for sure.

 

So I know that you said I need to reinstall FWE, and have it be the last thing installed, but would it be better if I go ahead and restart from scratch and clear it all out, so that I can try and make sure that there are no conflicts as far as assets go? The reason I am thinking about it being a good idea is simply because of my lack of knowledge about some of the mods. Case in Point; I didn't know that Alton included all of those changes, which weren't something that I wanted anyway, I had installed it because while going through hundreds of load order threads I saw it in quite a few of them, so I thought I'd check it out, and it turned out to look pretty intricate so I decided to check it out. But because I didn't know that it made the changes you pointed out, rather than helping or simply not hindering and just increased the quality of my gaming experience, it instead has ended up making things even worse and breaking more stuff. /sigh.

 

So maybe I just need to get rid of all of that other stuff that I added and perhaps break it down to just a couple mods to start with, since I am having a hard time figuring out what all I should change in regards to all of the amazing data you gave me. I know I already tore down my mods and went from over the 100 mark down to what I have now, but maybe I just bit off more than I could chew.

 

I really appreciate you both trying to help me get this figured out, I used to run a fully modded version of fo3 with 100+ mods just a few years ago and was able to have it up and running in just a few hours, but now when you add chemobrain into the mix it is all infinitely harder for me to grasp the whole scope of what each mod is changing and how it affects other mods, especially when so many mods change things that they don't list in the description or readme, all of which seems to have led to this hot mess <3

 

If you could give me a concrete starting point on where to begin it would be amazing.

So one of the things that those posts mentioned was that it was best to not install any mods until after you have left the vault and spent a few hours in the game, but I have always installed the mods prior to character creation, some because obviously you have to have it in there from the beginning for alternate story lines or character model improvements, but I also installed them previously because every post that I have read has said that once you have a save for a character you can't change your mods around or it will corrupt the save. So I am a bit lost as far as this goes. Is it only that you can't remove a mod rather than add/remove?

Based on the test results..yes.

you wanted to know things, that's how I do it condensed down.

this was to deal with an issue and My attempt to prevent further issues. It's not much fun CTDing and no answers.

You now have the benefit of hind sight. An answer to an issue.

your choice of mods and tools are what determines your needs, I have given the appropriate tool links to help with all of that.

The new issue facing you...Use Mod Organizer to filter out all those questionable assets and data, and this time around, your Original game will not be touched at all IF you can follow the laid out instructions..."information overload"...is not just for you alone, but anyone whom reads this.

 

Like i said...you need to know whats involved, and now you have the tools to break out of that box "with".

I just finished installing all of the tools you linked me, and I gotta admit it is nice knowing that I have the right versions of all the tools now, because so many guides had different answers (most conflicting each other) and eventually I just felt like I had to just choose one and go with it, alas I chose wrong lol. But now? Now I have all the tools to actually start fresh and get the stuff all installed right.

 

I hope you know how much I personally appreciate all the time you both took out of your day to repeatedly try and help me figure all of these problems out, and help get me back on track. The community is so lucky to have great people like you two still involved in it!

No problem, happy to help. soon very soon after messing about with the tools selections you will see for your self Just how efficient this can be.at point

 

once you have a clean ini file installed? copy that directly to the profile in mo and overwrite "Mo's".

Provided you can run the game first with out crashing, will mean it's good one. now , from that point on, you only use Mo.

 

If your game is a steam game ?, add the mo executable as a non steam game to steam, and then you have both worlds at your fingertips.

that way, screen shots made will be available to steams profile Immediately.

 

there is a great deal more I can teach too. all of this is only the very basic needs.

  • If, only if you like to see what can be done with Fo3 with raw Fo3 data and NO tweaks, I can spoil you rotten.

My signature shows what can be done @ or above 60 + FPS. Imagine the world it can be.

I also use several mods as (TOOLS) to test things in the game...imagine a mod used as a tool?
