Ridiculously slow image loading speeds

Ridiculously slow image loading speeds in the image section for mods. I included a screenshot that shows where in the UI I'm talking about.

Thumbnails load quickly.

Been happening for a couple months now. I waited to see if it got any better, but it has not. It used to be really fast, now it can take 30seconds to a full minute to load a single image. Bigger the image, slower it loads generally.

I can queue them up by clicking over on each one, several back to back, then going back to the beginning, but that process sucks and I'm sure that's not how it is intended to be.

I don't think it's a free vs. paid issue since I'm a premium member.

I tried a VPN and some images will load fast, but then most will still load really slow.

Are the images distributed across multiple data centers based on date added or is there a specific country I should VPN into to get around this issue?

Downloads for files through Mod Organizer is really fast (50megabytes per second+) and file download through the site is really fast too (20Megabytes per second+), without any VPN. I included a 2nd screenshot showing the fast file download from the site.

Tried Chrome, Edge, and Firefox, and 3 different PCs, and I have the same issue.

Thanks!

Unfortunately this is simply going to be an issue with the routing between your location and the images server (combined with some mod authors uploading ~7MB images).

A VPN may improve the performance but otherwise there isn't too much we can do about this.

Another thing that can affect the loading times for the images (especially those HUGE pics that Picky mentioned) is whether or not you are using a browser that goes through a VPN (like opera). I had to turn that off, for the mod pages, because it would take entirely too long for them to load up. I could literally just cue it to download all the pics, then look at and delete them later, before the browser would display them.

This is, however, based from VPN to VPN. Some of them will be slower than others, depending on a lot of different variables.

Maybe I'm just getting lucky at when I'm doing it. But if I stick to the main mod page, such as: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/today/?nav=1&page_size=15&page=2

if I click on the + in the top right of the mod's thumbnail, and then click "View Image Gallery" that does seem to help. Tho, you don't get the thumbnail strip at the bottom of the screen.

Another trick is when you're watching that spinner run around and around: Right Click and choose Open image in New tab (that message can be different, depending on browser) and sometimes that loads faster.
