Heavier Steel Plate

I always thought that steel plate armour was lacking in mass around the waist, and the way it was modeled made it feel top-heavy, while leaving the hips looking vulnerable. My idea was to add the side leg guards from Tsun's armour to steel plate, while also retexturing them to use the vanilla Steel Plate armour textures so they'd be affected by things like amidianborn steel plate armour.

The part of the armour covering the outer thighs is what I'm talking about. If possible, I'd like it to be done without the loincloth and the part of the belt that goes over the stomach.

This is where I'd like them to go.

  • Have you seen the the "Witcher 2 Style Dawnguard and Standard Heavy Plate" mod by Baraban? It has more historical European Medieval plate armor sets, with good leg protection and without the the "loin cloth". It might not be exactly Skyrim lore friendly, but it appears to be more like what you are asking for.... Also check out the Knights of the Nine and Matys Medieval Knights mods by Maty743 for Medieval style plate armors (ported from an Oblivion mod).
