Obmm trouble

Hi there, I've recently gotten back into modding and I'm having trouble with mods that use Oblivion Mod Manager. the mod in question is:

http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/34442/?tab=2&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Foblivion%2Fajax%2Fmodfiles%2F%3Fid%3D34442&pUp=1

I've also come across mods that have a .nif extention and that confused me because i thought that mods needed to have a .esp extension. I'll place the download in oblivion/obmm/mods and then activate it from the Oblivion Mod Manager, but the .esp file doesnt show up activated on the other side. I thought that the mod might be activating without showing up in the data files, but I've also verified that the mod isn't showing up ingame. I'm new to this so any advice you could give would be extremely helpful. Thanks for taking the time to read this!

There is a 7z version of it too on the bottom but better if you'll start learning OBMM (though you can also use 7z files with OBMM). Anyway, you didn't say what happens with the HGEC mod so I'll leave that aside.

Now,files with .nif extension are meshes (3d models) so they belong inside the "obliviom\data\meshes" folder. The exact location depends on what you're modding. Most of the times there are instructions for their installation but it seems you got unlucky there. If you want you can post the link,I'll check it out and tell you what to do.

Mods that only replace the vanilla meshes or textures don't need an ESP file, as long as they use the exact same folder structure and .nif or .dds name as the vanilla object they are replacing. Those types of mods do need archive invalidation so that the game will use the replacement assets.

HGEC Body with BBB v1dot12 is easily installed using Oblivion Mod Manager. Click on the top listed file in the downloads list and when prompted for where to download it to select your Oblivion\obmm\mods folder (if the mods folder doesn't already exist create it in the Oblivion\obmm folder from the save dialogue). When you open OBMM you'll then see it listed in the right hand pane with a green box beside it. Click on it and then the Activate button down at the bottom of the OBMM window. It will bring up the installation script to walk you through the various options. I suggest you select the "no animations" option and then install NoMaaM BBB Animation Replacer.
