FWE is crashing me on startup

Newcomer here, been playing the Fallout franchise for about 4 years. Finally got a computer that can run Fallout 3 smoothly and with great ease, however I'm having a problem with FWE.

I installed FWE using the NMM, I have FOSE installed properly and all that critical jazz.

If I uncheck all of the plugins related to FWE, the game runs smoother and better than ever - if I do, it crashes on startup and then forces me to restart my computer.

I've exhausted all options, here's my load order - please help me before I commit suicide:

Fallout3.esm=1
Anchorage.esm=1
ThePitt.esm=1
BrokenSteel.esm=1

It is probably because you have a missing master, namely Point Lookout. Point Lookout is one of the master files required for FO3 Wanderers Editon - DLC Point Lookout.esp.

I also suggest that you read the sample load order that the mod author so thoughtfully provided on the FWE description page.

This might help other folks in the same boat: I had the same problem until I followed this guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SAeXsA6Nt8. Some of it is a bit dated now (such as the fallout interoperability program requirement) so you kind of have to wing it from there if you intend to use a bunch of major mods together (blackened seems to be the go-to mod now).

That's an understatement. A lot of Gopher's Fallout 3 mod install vids are seriously outdated now.

Fortunately, someone else has recently made an up to date tutorial covering how to install FWE and MMM and how to make them compatible: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J4y4lui3l9U.
