Jowain92
Not sure where this goes, but I suppose this will do. How exactly do you add a new banner to Skyrim with a custom texture? I've recently finished a couple of custom banner textures that I wish to add to my game, however I do not wish to replace existing banners with these textures. However there doesn't seem to be a way for me to connect the textures to a new (or duplicated) banner. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to do this?
Ellorienne
You would need to duplicate the .nif file that uses the textures, and then replace the textures that the .nif file uses in nifSkope. If you didn't use the .dds file that was already a banner, then you will also need to adjust the UV map on the mesh to make it sit properly on the mesh. Dumitas
Also you had to manually add the banner on the map, with creation kit.
HailHell
The above works but is unnecessary and takes up more disk space, in ck navigate to the Miscellaneous then to Textureset, create a new textureset and attach the banner.dds to the DIFFUSE and the banner_n.dds to the NORMAL/GLOSS, this way you can attach the texture to the banner model directly through ck. Terra Nova
If the textures were made with UV map in mind its fine to do it that way. Otherwise the textures might be messed up in certain areas.
Jowain92
I was actually unaware of that you could connect textures to meshes in the CK, this did help me attaching the texture to new banners, thanks for the help and suggestions!
