TransnerferN7
I downloaded the file, extracted it, then copied all the files in the downloaded 'Data' folder to my skyrim data folder. Was that right? Because the mod page was a little vague to me. I have seen the NPC's though so at least it works Edited February 20, 2015 by TransnerferN7
kniggit92
Yeah that's how you manually install it without nexus mod manager, sounds like you did it right.
TransnerferN7
I was kinda forced to do it manually, as there was no 'download with NMM' button so I was a bit bemused at first
kniggit92
Oh dear that's a shame because that wasn't necessary. In the NMM there is an option called add mod from file on the left, click that and select the zip file (don't unpack it) this is essentially the same as regular NMM downloading. I'm pretty sure the reason for no NMM dload button is the huge file size, but you can always install mods like these with NMM after downloading manually.Uninstalling the mod is now going to be a huge hassle if you ever decide to, you'd have to reinstall skyrim completely since it's going to take longer to delete the individual mods files one by one. TransnerferN7
Oh, well. Is it too late to transfer the files over to NMM? Could the manual way break my game?
kniggit92
You have three options: 1: Live with what you did, always have interesting npc's installed (I love the mod and could live with this just fine) 2: Look in the original zip file, search each file it installed and delete them manually. 3: Reinstall Skyrim.Installing the mod with NMM won't solve anything, because if you then uninstall with NMM it will restore to what it was before you installed with NMM. Basically NMM now sees interesting NPC as part of vanilla Skyrim. EDIT:Just realised you could also just disable the .esp file if you ever want to stop using the mod, it will still take up disc space though. TransnerferN7
But would keeping it there damage my game at all?
kniggit92
No it won't, since the mod doesn't overwrite anything crucial, it's just the .esp that adds stuff, the files in your data folder are just resources. Without the .esp those files do nothing. Edited February 20, 2015 by kniggit92
