Mod Team Builder

After looking through the forums, I was unable to find a thread that assists modders in providing or requesting services. Therefore, I decided to create one. I, myself, am looking to put together a mod team, and I am sure there are plenty of others out there as well. This thread is NOT for advertising voice acting, as there is already a thread for that, which can be found here: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/951656-the-voice-actors-of-skyrim-nexus/

Here is what I require for my mod team:

Quest Writer(s)

3D Modeler(s)

Texturer(s)

Script Writer(s)

If you find yourself interested, please do not hesitate to send me a message!

No, no no. Thats not how it works. You don't just say "I need you to work on my Mod". No ones going to help you because why should they? You're telling them to take time and effort to work on something they've got no idea about. You won't be PMed because you need to show that you've done something already. It is very, very rare that a modder is not actively working on their own mod or not doing so for a reason.

When they are free, you'd better show them WHY they should help you and WHY they should be interested, b/c they won't join.

VAs are different b/c it's good for their portfolios and you can't make many mods with only the skill "VA". It's an important and awesome but supplementary role.

Yes, I will second Matthiaswagg on this, he and I have griped several times before about posts like this. This just will not get you any results.

First and foremost you are telling us literally NOTHING about what you want to build, and NOTHING about what YOU are going to do in the project, and let me tell ya, if your job is " Coordinate everyone " or " Write the story ", then consider the project dead right now because that will not give anyone assurances that their efforts at creating YOUR mod will be put to good use.

Start simple: build a player house in the CK yourself, that's one of the simplest mod types that can teach you how to use the CK which is simple and basic enough in it's execution where you can learn by doing, yet offers infinite options for function and detail enhancements as you learn more. Read and watch tutorials online as you work. Once you have actually published a polished small mod, then you can start talking to folks about possibly working together on a project or two.

It's really only after you have some good knowledge on HOW this stuff works (even if you can't fully do it all yourself), and only after you have put in some time and effort into learning, discussing, asking questions and the like that you can ever hope to " Assemble a team " The only people who can hope to assemble a group of modders to do their work and share their vision, are people who can prove that they can produce good work and are part of the community and won't simply vanish next week when things get tough or the get bored or find something more interesting to do, etc, etc.

Voice acting is a " work for hire " sort of deal, whereas all the other tasks are creative collaboration, and like Matthias said, people who can do that stuff, already are doing their own stuff most likely, or are already working on a larger group project. I put in over 2000 hours of work on my mod before even thinking about asking folks to help contribute and build stuff for it. My mod has been around long enough now and I'm active enough that anyone who I do ask can plainly see that I am not going anywhere and that I have a clear vision and that their work will certainly be put to good use and not wasted.

Don't shoot the moon, you'll just end up holding the queen of spades :P Aim a little lower first and put your time in and do the dirty grunt work of learning because good ideas are in surplus around here, but the knowledge of how to execute it is invaluable and in tight demand

I am terribly sorry! I made this thread when I was really tired, and didn't feel like putting too much down. As I said before, however, this thread was not just for me, but for anyone hoping to start a mod team.

I, myself, am already quite acquainted with the Creation Kit. I know how to do many, if not most, things. The mod I am making for Skyrim adds the Bleach anime character, Tier Harribel into the game as a follower. I plan to have it fully fleshed out, including voiced NPC's, quests, dungeons, the works. I have already made most of the items, and even a few of the enemies. The quest/script writer(s) don't even have to really work on the project, just give me a few lessons on how to write them and maybe help with questions I may have. I don't need a modeler(s) for this mod, as I have already modeled several of the assets. However, if one should find themselves interested in making a better model, then that would be appreciated. The same also goes for texturers. Of course, anyone who assists me will get credited. My job will partially be "making the mod", as in putting everything where it needs to be for it to work.

I also have a list of planned features that I am working on, which can be found here: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/57061/?

Again, I'm terribly sorry that I did not specify anything about my projects(s).
