Hi there guy's been working on a Mod for a while and I finally finished the little area the mod introduces plus, I managed to figured out the rest of the stuff that, I wanted to add to my mod. Started working on the main quest so far there's 2 quest of the main one done just need to add the rest, I also came up with a Bounty Board that gives you Bouties and other sorts of quest apart from the storyline is a similar system like the notice board for Skyrim it also introduces 2 radio stations, scavenger hunts for holotapes, so far everything that has been mentioned is fully functional and in the long run it will add 3 factions, a settlement and a little surprise that I have been trying to figure out for a while now its pretty cool believe me anyway's just wanted to start getting some voice to the characters to bring them to life as I keep working on it I learn more stuff and bigger the project becomes if anyone that has any idea for armors and weapons, I would be more than happy to integrate them to my project everyone that helps gets the credit they deserve there release that I'm shooting for is around mid or late December one more thing if anyone is interested send me a message at the following email and I will get back to you if, I don't contact you right away it's because I'm busy at work and believe, I got some long hours the email is: [email protected] and thanks for reading.

AWESOME news tomsierra117!

this sounds promising! something like this would be

perfect for FO4.

if I can assist at all, where can I aid?

my code-fu in FO4 is not strong...

though, I can assist with testing, voice-over,

writing arc, and some visual assets.

I wonder if this thread is riffing in the same direction?

https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/4942965-fo4-bounty-quests/

will those posters be of some use?

maybe others can make the poster look more in-universe and textured?

-----

turning to voice-overs -

what script do you have for people to submit as a demo?

do you want a few different voices per person per submission?

do you want different ethnicity in the voice over?

or, only bostonian american/north umbridge etc...?

Sounds neat. I, like the man above me, am not the best coder [actually, I can't do any of that fancy stuff at all], but assisting with voice, writing, and maybe ideas, are things I can indeed do. Perhaps give some direction to other voice guys if needed. Shoot me a PM if you're still gonna do this.

montky, I could for sure use the help with the testing, voice over, visual assets and ideas like the ones with the posters mentioned in you own thread, I think those ideas could actually fit with the main quest I have planned especially the one with the protectron as for the voice acting the main character is from the west so something with like a cowboy type of voice, I really had not thought about all of those things, neither about the script for people to voice act and summit examples off, I guess that's some work, I have to do hopefully, I'll have enough time today to come up with something and I'll send it to those interested in helping. Send me a PM or an Email to [email protected], I think we can come up with something even better than what we both have in mind.

While I'm not exactly one for technical stuff, I'd love to lend a hand with some of the voice acting roles on offer. The full resume is here or here, but I'll also link some samples in the demo reel below if you're still interested. Best of luck with the project.

@genolune,

I am far from an expert hehehe though, anything I can help so as you can

get involved in this would be the least I can do hehehe

you've made a lot of cool mods in the past so this would be full circle and 'infront of the camera' as it were hehe.

definitely shoot a PM to Tomsierra117.

NB: You will need all DLC to be able to test the present prototype.

I thoroughly recommend a clean non-modded install to test the prototype too,

just incase of any bugs (though it seems fairly stable at the moment).

"what are the expected standard for the voice over files?"

so far on FO3, FONV and FO4 mods,

it is just 'no-unnecessary noise" in the voice file,

and your basic voice to start with.

(if you can do compression curves and effects, maybe those later, though just a basic voice is fine).

this raw file can then be sound-engineered or altered later,

and some of those effects are applied in-game by mods or when wearing a helmet, etc...

So, you don't quite need a soundproof room,

though that would help,

you don't want loud noises in the background, people talking in the background,

creaking or noises etc..

each line or specific phrase is recorded separately,

or if you record multiple takes at once, or all at once,

it's then broken up into each line.

usually the file name is of a format, though in this case,

just a character type and line number helps to sort and compare stuff.

typical equipment is;

Software: Audacity*, Qubase/Audiotronic or some post-editing software.

2 channel 44000 16 to 64bit sampling, preferably sterophonic or with some 'depth'.

Hardware: Rode or Audio-Technica* (or equivalent, generally not telephones, headset mikes, walkietalkies etc).

if you really wanted, quadraphonic noise cancelling mic with 'sock' and pop-filter, with a Zune etc...

if your headset mic is really high quality, you can use headset mics as well. I recommend using a pop-filter with headset mics.

-----

As to the script and 'characters' - it is being formed,

there will be some motivations and descriptive text too.

I'm hoping to have a test script to accompany a raw variant of the mod -

that way, folks that want to do the VO can

'play in situ' try the beta of the board out, and see how the scenes are envisaged to play out, as well as have the script too.

you can try lots of different voices - anything you think you could do consistently,

as well as a 'benchmark' lot of dialog so as all the people who tryout for it are reading from the same page.

then, whatever matches the character, as well as how the voices play out next to

in juxtaposition to the other voices... those choices are what TS117 will do.

there will be a lot of different approaches people can make -

you can do any style of voice.

anything you think fits FO4ness.

anything that comes into your head while playing the beta or after seeing the script.

there look to be parts for female, male, robots, and different ethnicities too.

anyone from anywhere who'd like to tryout can do so.

this is a free voluntary collab, so anyone who'd volunteer their voice is welcome to try out.

-----

types of voices;

there'll be a few which will require a boston-esque accent,

a 'north umbridge'/'new hampshire' accent,

some could be southern - Tennessean, Texan, Albuquerque etc, midwestern. Think Dr Phil meets AJ...

a couple appear italian-american too,

some could be african american,

european (scandanavian and Irish, by the character model), south american - one is mexican,

asian (there'll be a couple of characters which appear to be asian from the character model),

impressions and likenesses are always awesome to see from folks,

so if you think you can do a decent impression of someone, go for it hehe.

most of it will be english, though don't be afraid to speak some of the lines

in other languages if you speak other languages too hehe

past Fallout games had a lot of characters who were poly-lingual.

as to the character types,

honest-hard working- 'happy go lucky', 'aloof'/'chem-addict',

conman/dodgy - "sells Ice to Eskimo" type, a persuasive sales person/transactional...

weather woman/news reader, - matter of fact, with a lot of passion and happy.

brawler/hard-nosed - uses FallOut slang, and speaks in short simple sentences.

doctor or intellectual (big words and air of confidence).

military bearing,

everyperson,

older person ~50+ male and female, "family people" and "cantankerous cool hipster"

as well as 'ghoul', 'robot', 'monster' etc.

you can also have different readings of the sentences,

pacing, pentameter... sentence syntax structure, emphasis, tone.

------

I will be trying for;

new hampshire accent, robot no. 2, and old-texan.

who knows if what I submit will be useful or not hehe though its fun anyhow.

eg. dialogue;

"Tickets Please" -

"How May I Assist You"

"A Wise Choice, Ma'am".

"Refrain From Your Mis-con-duct, And Return To Your Homes"

"Halt"

"Processing Input: Please... Wait."

"I Wonder If The Tea Is Still In Boston Harbor..."

"Please Consider Employing A Licensed RobCo Programmer To Add The Functionality You Suggested"

"Welcome to |insert location here|"

"I Will Charge The User The Median Price From Surrounding Settlements On All Goods This Unit Has To Offer"

"I Propose The Input Of Fungible Resources, In Exchange For Goods And / Or Services..." --- opening the trade menu.

"Logic Error: You Must Die"

"*error noises*"

"wailing/injured robot noises"

"Mercy. This Unit. Begs. For. Mercy." --- if you attack a robot and it has low health.

"Take This Unit Immediately To... The Nearest... Robco Repair Facility, Showroom, Or, Scrap-Yard."

"This Unit Proposes An Alternative: Present To |questgiver| This Collar Brace Instead. Convince |Questgiver| Of This Unit's Demise.

This Unit Has Nothing Material To Reward Such Conduct With... Though, You Will Have Done The Ethical Course Of Conduct. Ethics Is Its Own Reward"

"Follow Me, Please"

new hampshire;

"Thanks for getting me out of... well, the less said about that, the better.

I can finally get myself a respectable job... a trade stand.

Say, you wouldn't happen to need a |item|?"

"You'll be needing to stock up first though, from what I hear... it's fairly rough out there..."

"If you can solve this, non-violently of course, there's quite a reward on offer."

"You're not going to get away with this, you rad-snake!"

"You're no better than Brahmin Dung, you feral waster you!"

"You travel with Ghouls? You're braver than I thought... they'll turn on you, when you least expect it."

"If I don't make it... ah, who the hell cares anyhow..." --- death monologue.

texan

"Now... you're going to pay for it."

"Supposing I did do something... what are you going to do about it?"

"You listen here... I ain't gonna go nowhere with you, no way no how."

"When you put it like that... I'll come quietly." - persuasion check success.

"Bounty? On me? I don't know nothing about no bounty... this is a goldurn mistake is what this is."

"If I split the difference with you... maybe, say 200 caps... you'd forget about this whole thing, tell em I was dead or you couldn't find me, or whatever?"

"Lookey at my here hip... see that? It ain't no toy. I'm guessin yours ain't neither..."

"What can I do you for, stranger? I'll be moseyin' along..."

------

Locals will also try out for different "simlish" takes on the script,

so as its not really any words, though its murmurings or a tone.

I hope this helps you to get an idea of what you'd need,

and I hope you try out -

don't be afraid to try a lot of different things initially, and then hone in from guided feedback

Sounds fair enough. I've not made enough mods. I'm just getting my feet wet in the tools. One of these days I'll make something nice like greekrage, mikemoore or Elianora.

Audacity I have, my roommate has a microphone he uses for streaming, and we both have pretty good computers.

As far as my accent, it's a Wisconsin accent so it can be off putting. Also, I've spent time in the Army so I can play the part of a soldier.
