I dont have the Fallout4Custom.ini and everywhere i search everyone writes just to create one with your text editor...its just funny that on all editors i have its just a TEXT FILE!! (Fallout4Custom.ini.txt) for example.

So how to create this File or to make it faster...just send me the plain standart .ini so i can start modding finally

The custom ini should be created the first time you launch the game using the in-game launcher. If not then try to remap a couple of keys in the "settings" menu. Then go to documents/my games/FO4 and check if it is there. I've jsut reinstalled a couple of times and it has always been created automatically.

Also, to read and alter .ini files, best to use Notepad++

Sure, it's "just" a text file, but with Notepad++ it's easier to navigate and add stuff.

To be able to use mods, you need to add the following to the [Archive] section of the Fallout4.ini (not the Custom.ini), located in Documents/My Games/Fallout4:

bInvalidateOlderFiles=1
sResourceDataDirsFinal=

Here's another way to go about it:

1. Make the file as per normal with notepad.

2. Save the file named "name here".ini, this will become "name here".ini.txt .

3. Go to your Windows folder options and uncheck to hide known extensions (numerous Internet articles will explain exact steps).

4. Select your new "name here".ini.txt, press F2 on your keyboard, delete the ".txt" part of the file name, Windows will ask about changing the extension, answer yes. Presto, instant ini file.

That should help and as a bonus, no more files hiding as picture.jpg.exe (you just see picture.jpg and initially think it's safe) containing bad things, as you can now see the real extension (this is a known issue from Windows 95 days, it still persists, even though the fix is that easy to do).
