It would be a stronger version of a Black soul gem and can hold dragon souls for better enchanting. would give another thing to spend dragon souls on. More powerful enchantments!. i'm sure all it would take is to put a black soul gem texture onto a grand soul gem. Dimensionlord1 Posted March 7, 2017 Share Posted March 7, 2017 Dragons do not have black souls according to lore thus a black soul gem would not be able to capture a dragon's soul. The only thing that should if at all be able to hold a dragon's soul is Azura's Star considering it can be used to capture the soul of Vivec and Almalexia in Morrowind. Hm, okay then, how about give this ability to Azura's star instead? because what you said made a wee bit of sense and i see now why GBSG's don't exist. so why not Azura's Star then? As of currently Azuara's Star isn't really anything special, so most people go the alternate route in the quest and choose the Black Star. Though if the Star could hold a dragon's soul that is a lot more powerful than a grand soul then It'd give a good reason to choose to take the Star to Azura instead. Also I don't know if you played Oblivion, but there was actually something akin to a black grand soul gem. It was called a Colossal Black Soul Gem. Indeed i have, came from morrowind. i honestly never heard of the Colossal Black soul gem however, :/ granted i haven't really played Oblivion in a good while, been to busy on skyrim and its creation kit.
