Is it Possible to Convert SSE Mods to Oldrim?

I'm aware it's possible to convert mods from Oldrim to SSE, though I'm not so sure if the reverse is true.

Is there a limitation on which mods can be ported? If so, what types of mods?

For Example, if it is possible how do I convert a mod like High Poly Project from SSE to Oldrim?

Apologies if I am posting on the wrong forum, or am in violation of a rule, it is unintentional.

This is what I was told when I asked someone who knows.

"You have pretty much no tools to do that."

"Textures can be converted.

Meshes are hard.

HKX almost impossible.

And so are ESP. (In case the new format is ESL then you are just out of luck.)

Code is the same, but while SSE can run as is PEX files from LE, the opposite is not true, so you need to recompile them."

Yes it is possible. High Poly Project is pretty easy to backport since the SSE Nif Optimizer has a feature to convert meshes that were made for the Special Edition back to Oldrim. So weapons/armor/graphic mods should make no problem. It doesn't matter if these mods com with an .esp or .esl as long as they don't contain any scripts. Special Edition mods with scripts cannot be backported without much effort. That's why we probably won't see any Oldrim port of SE quest mods.

This someone obviously has nothing but superficial knowledge.
