MSGO replacement?

I love MSGO but it murders my framerate. Does anyone recommend anything else? I love the tree replacements, graphic enhancements, and sound alterations. Many of the tweaks I can do without. Does anyone know if there is a list of all the mods used in MSGO? I thought maybe I could just pick and choose the updated version of the mods I like, and just skip using MSGO altogether.

 

Any suggestions? Thanks.

There are many things you can adjust through MGE XE, did you take a look at it?

I definitely recommend avoiding MGSO. Morrowind Code Patch and MGE XE are the big ones as far as utilities, and Patch for Purists for bugfixes. Beyond that it's really just personal preference. IIRC MGSO uses Vurt's trees mods, which I also use for the most part.

Or you can do what I did when I didn't want to use every mod in MSGO.

MSGO is great but I agree, there are a few changes I could do without as well. I recently starting playing an updated purist Morrowind and I'm enjoying it so far.

 

Here's what I'm using -

Morrowind GOTYE with all official plugins

Morrowind Code patch

MGE XE

Patch for Purists

Morrowind Enhanced Overhaul

UMOPP (unofficial official plugins patch)

 

The above is a great base. Some of it may require some reading/tweaking to get right but it's well worth it.

 

I am also using -

Better Bodies

Better Heads

Better Clothes Complete

 

The end result is a great Morrowind experience that brings the graphics/functionality as up to date as possible and fixes 100+ bugs and limitations in the original game engine, all while maintaining the 'spirit' of the original game.
