On the topic of modding: Why is this wide expanse never used for expansion mods?

^ This is a plentiful, bountiful, and solid land valley just past the mountain barrier west of goodsprings. With so much bountiful land that is still technically in the boundary of the map according to the pipboy: why is it not used to build massive open world cities? Why let so much land go to waste? Even if you run out of land, which is pretty unlikely, you can build over an infinite yet irradiated ocean, just paving over it would suffice.

There is so much boundless potential: why don't modders use this land to their advantage? There's sooo much land just ripe for the plundering. I've not seen a single expansion mod use the boundless areas of the map, and that's a shame as I see so much potential in them.

I don't remember the name of the mod, but there is an expansion that uses that area.

Personally, when I want new land, I just create new worldspaces. Then I have complete control over the area and don't have to worry about interference from other mods.

Still there's a lot of space, and I mean: a lot a lot. And also the irradiated ocean past this wide expanse is literally infinite, you could create a water world town with the ocean alone, and due to the ocean being literally infinite: I think a community could band together to chart maps of which plots of sea have been taken and expanding out from there: that ocean is infinitesimally bigger than our real life universe (even the unobservible universe), so potential for adding shanties, towns and the like would probably never die,

Not all of that land is usable. Some of it is there just for LOD so that you don't look off in the distance and see OMG THE END OF THE WORLD!!!

The game breaks if you try to go too far out from the center of the map. The game's physics engine starts to barf and do weird things, and the GECK will either refuse to load the area or will just give up and crash.

Also, the lack of things out there kinda works to its detriment.

You put your nice town or whatever out there and it's just surrounded by literally undeveloped nothingness, No natural scenery or anything, just vast empty space with a single constant dirt texture. It would take a whole lot of additional work just to get the scene presentable.

Besides, there's still plenty of space in the game I haven't seen *anyone* use to this day.
