  1. Dark0ne's post in Removal of the Add Game Wizard extension was marked as the answer
We removed the easy way to add broken game support into Vortex for the masses.
  2. Dark0ne's post in why isn't my Premium subscription working? was marked as the answer
You're not showing as Premium here - are you sure you don't have more than one account and you're on the wrong, non-Premium account?
You will need to email [email protected] with as much information as possible (ideally your payment receipt, or the email address you used when paying, or the date you paid) and they can try to help you.
  3. Dark0ne's post in Baldur's Gate 3 Extension pushed erroneously? was marked as the answer
No, it's how Vortex works. The mod manager is always ready to manage every game it supports and it updates support for each game as and when an update is ready automatically.

This is far better than needing to do a major update to Vortex (downloading the entire software and reinstalling it) every time we need to update support for a specific game.
  4. Dark0ne's post in The fact that you can't sign out of the Vortex app is insane was marked as the answer
There is a "log out" link under your username in the top-right corner. Click that and it logs you out of Vortex. Next time you try to login to Vortex it will log you in to the account you are logged into on Nexus Mods.

If this isn't what you are talking about then please can you provide step-by-step instructions explaining how to reproduce the issue and/or what errors you are getting.
  5. Dark0ne's post in Vortex is an amazing piece of technology! Groundbreaking! was marked as the answer
Ignoring the fact NMM cannot manage Collections at all (so that's completely moot), are we living in an alternative reality where NMM didn't and still doesn't have the same Premium restrictions?

Bottlenecking speeds - Both Vortex and NMM (and manually downloading through your browser) has this restriction. They have done since 2007. Pausing downloads unless you go through an ad - neither Vortex or NMM do this, nor have they ever done this
  6. Dark0ne's post in Extensions Be Gone! was marked as the answer
We do this because it's more "graceful" than the alternative for our users. We keep the app as up to date as possible at all times because we do not know when users might want to install a new game we support and start playing (or their could be security patches, or stability patches, or anything else from a myriad reasons why).

Before: whenever we updated a game extension the entire app would need to be updated. You'd be prompted to close the app and restart it to continue regardless of what game you are playing and what extension needed to be updated.

Now: the extensions update themselves in the background without the need for you to close and restart the app every time we update a single extension. We believe this is better than the previous system.
  7. Dark0ne's post in Worst money I ever spent was marked as the answer
You've downloaded over 450 mods since going Premium a few days ago so it can't be all bad.

Any throttling is not done on our end. If I were to copy you and throw around completely ridiculous and unfounded accusations then it sounds like your ISP is scamming you and not us.

If you're not willing to do the tests to help us diagnose the issue then we cannot help and this is a waste of everyone's time. Start another thread with the tests done if you actually want help.
  8. Dark0ne's post in Vortex and Privacy? was marked as the answer
We don't and never have sold user data.

When we collect data, it is either for the functioning of the site (i.e. you need an account to upload a mod) or for analytical purposes to help us better understand what our users do with our products and how they use them, so we can make more informed decisions on how we spend our time bettering what we provide.

This excludes advertising data which we have absolutely no control over (short of removing all ads). We do not sell any data to advertisers or third-parties, but advertisements will collect their own data as part of the service. Vortex does not include any external advertisements so this is a moot point for Vortex.
  9. Dark0ne's post in Vortex "endorsed" column interaction with site? was marked as the answer
    Hello,

The website is heavily cached, so it can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours for your changes to display on the mod page itself.
  10. Dark0ne's post in i have game extensions and mods that i never downloaded, why? was marked as the answer
Vortex updates its managed extensions (i.e. extensions made or verified by Nexus Mods staff) automatically without you needing to download and install a new version of Vortex each time. Even if you don't own the games, it will keep Vortex extensions updated to the latest version regardless to minimise inconvenience to you and other users. It is a normal functional of the software and nothing to be concerned about.
  11. Dark0ne's post in Internet cuts out when downloading large mods was marked as the answer
It's nice to get an error that your download speed is too fast to our servers for once, it's often the other way around

It sounds like this is actually an issue with your router not being able to properly distribute traffic on the network properly. Most modern routers (as long as they are not super, SUPER cheap) will ensure a single download does not saturate all the bandwidth and ensure there's enough bandwidth for other users on the network through Quality of Service functionality.

If you are not the person with access to the router, ask the person who is to go into the router settings and ensure "QoS" or "Quality of Service" functionality is turned on.
  12. Dark0ne's post in Vortex support for source games/valve games was marked as the answer
Source games typically aren't popular on Nexus Mods as the Source Engine came out ~2004 and we didn't open Nexus Mods up to games outside of Bethesda games until much later, ~2012.

We typically want to provide support for games that we actually have a good amount of mods for, and that's simply not the Source based games.
