Tried it just now. It works and it looks good. That's close enough to a solution for me. Thanks!

RaceMenu overlays look fine, but scars from the scars slider look like this when SSS is enabled: I was able to find this thread on the ENB forum about a very similar issue, but it turns out it's not exactly the same. I made those changes to the NIFs myself and tested them before realizing this mod also takes care of that. Neither the mod nor my own changes solved the problem. It's not all ENBs that do it. For some reason, the subsurface scattering in Ruvaak Dahmaan works perfectly. I tried copying its SSS settings over to NAT, one of the ENBs that make the scars grey, but that didn't help either. SSE How to edit the color of a glow effect?
Vaz2008 replied to Vaz2008's topic in Skyrim's Creation Kit and Modders
It worked! That was such a clever leap you made! Thank you so very much! \o/ The original mod has open perms so I'll probably upload this when it's done. I'll credit you for figuring this out. -
SSE How to edit the color of a glow effect?
Vaz2008 replied to Vaz2008's topic in Skyrim's Creation Kit and Modders
Thank you for the reply! I already got the Emissive Colors, though (and I got them all, I drilled down into everything): (GreenGlow.dds is actually white) edit: I changed the colors in the nif to red as a better test than blue, and part of the effect is being affected: edit 2: it DOES have something to do with GreenGlow.dds after all. I split the channels, blacked out red and green, recombined them without the alpha channel, and the green glow turned into blue squares. So then I made a new texture from scratch and replaced GreenGlow.dds...and it's still green in CK. It seems like it has to do with the color channels in the image, somehow... Tried blacking out the R and G channels. Now it's dark blue in CK but it has a hint of green around the edges. edit 3: I tried borrowing a similar texture from another mod, a mod with a blue-glowing sword, naming it GreenGlow.dds, and replacing the file. Still green. Maybe GreenGlow.dds isn't the problem... -
SSE How to edit the color of a glow effect?
Vaz2008 posted a topic in Skyrim's Creation Kit and Modders
I've been trying for days to make Warglaive of Azzinoth -The Twin Blades of Azzinoth- blue. The main texture was easy, and I recolored all the fx textures too, but I can't figure out what actually makes the glow and particle effects green. No matter what I do, when I preview one of the edited NIFs in CK, the weapon itself has my changes but the effects are still fully green like I did nothing at all. I've loaded all three of the NIFs for the mainhand item into NifSkope and changed every Emissive, Specular, BSEffectShaderProperty, and BSPSysSimpleColorModifier. (The vertex colors are all white to begin with, so I didn't change them.) The files I'm loading in CK are the same files I've edited and saved: I triple-checked that, so it's not that I forgot to copy the edited meshes into Data. I found some RGB values under EnchFireFXShaderGOA and FireFXShaderGOA, changed those, and saved over the ESP. It's maybe the second time I've ever used NifSkope and the second time I've ever used the Skyrim CK. Honestly, I don't want to resort to learning everything about Skyrim modding from the ground up, I'm already busy learning other things. Surely there's something simple I'm missing here? -

I always check the comments to see what issues the mod might have, judging for myself whether the people posting the comments have any idea what they're talking about. When comments and bug reports are disabled, I feel like I'm going in blind, and most likely I'll just skip the mod. HOWEVER, considering how awful Nexus users can be and often are, I can't begrudge authors choosing to limit how they can be communicated with. I'd rather they not feel that they have to withdraw from Nexus entirely. Sometimes the bad actions of others mean we can't have nice things, and that's just the way it is.

I'm wishing for a mod that changes the "screen" you get when you receive, whether by looting or from a quest, a legendary item. By default the screen requires you to press a button to take the item. Fallout 76's version of this screen is far less intrusive, without all the UI at the bottom and requiring no interaction from the player; it just shows you the item for a couple seconds and then goes away on its own. There is this, but it gets rid of the screen entirely.

Discussion about the rights of androids

The kind of system FO4 uses for character face customization is still sliders at its heart, just with a different interface. Pull the nose out from the side angle, increase "nonexistent" slider for nose bridge depth...push the chin upward from the front angle, decrease the "nonexistent" slider for chin height... But yeah, it means you can't easily see or screenshot your face settings. Very dumb trend in games, IMO.

Disabling AdBlock on Skyrim Nexus. I'd already disabled it on other Nexus sites I use, but for whatever reason or lack thereof, hadn't done it for Skyrim Nexus yet. Shame on me. -
Oh. My. Gosh. Those are absolutely beautiful. *tears* Is there a place I can, I don't know, subscribe or watch? I think I'll try to PM Calyps and see if he's willing to let me use the WIP in the meantime. PMing him is a good idea. ^_^

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6493713/pixelated%20shadows.png In some circumstances (I have no idea which circumstances), this problem is either nonexistent or not noticeable. It is always visible on faces that have shadows cast on them by hair or headgear, though. Is it ENB (I'm using Synergy)? Is it my settings? Here are all the shadow-related lines in my SkyrimPrefs.ini: Is it something else? Skyrim is patched to 1.6.89. Dawnguard is not installed. I doubt there are solutions to these problems, just workarounds achieved through trial and error, so I don't even call them problems. Oddities I've noticed while editing eye textures: - In-game, whether using an ENB or not, saturation of eye colors appears insanely high and details are almost entirely eliminated. Lighter eyes even seem to glow brightly, but I'm certain I have no _g.dds files. It's HDR's fault I guess. I've come to take HDR for granted to the point where I almost forgot how detrimental it can be in some ways. Not sure whether I'm willing to disable it. Maybe ENB would compensate for its absence. - There is an all-black eye option available to all races. At first I thought all races had access to one of the Bosmer eye options for some unfathomable reason and that that eye happened to be the one I'd edited to be black. That, furthermore, this eye was appearing in duplicate for Bosmer. But soon I realized that an all-black eye, eyedemon.dds, is available by default. - It's extremely difficult to tell the difference between eye colors in-game, or at least in character creation/showracemenu. - I suspect there is at least one human eye option that is actually duplicated in the cc/srm slider. I'll have to check this in the Creation Kit. Tangentially, cc/srm really needs to...not be so horrible! Needs manual zooming and even more than that it needs current value labels on the sliders. I hope there will be a mod for that someday, but I imagine it might take a few years. TFC seems to be broken in cc/srm: it moves to a place where I can't see the character at all and gets stuck there. I suppose that's because the cc/srm menus have control of the movement keys tfc needs. Not that TFC would be all that helpful...it's so squirrelly. Edit: I noticed a way to zoom in close when using srm. Toggle TFC on and position the camera close to the character's face, then activate showracemenu. The menu will treat your chosen camera position as the zoom-in point--it will use it when it is supposed to focus on the character's face, e.g. in the Eyes section. I haven't tested this with initial character creation, but I guess it would work then too. Those are my pointless observations. I don't really expect any replies, but it would be nice--misery loves company.

CRAFT - "Community Resource to Allow Fanmade Tinkering" for Fallout 3. DUI - "DarNified UI", an interface mod for Oblivion, Fallout 3, and Fallout: New Vegas. EVE - "Energy Visuals Enhanced" for Fallout 3 and its Fallout: New Vegas equivalent "Essential Visual Enhancements". FOMM - Fallout Mod Manager. FOOK - "Fallout Overhaul Kit" for Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas. Always referred to as FOOK. FWE - "Fallout Wanderers Edition" for Fallout 3. GECK - Garden of Eden Creation Kit, official software for modding Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas. HGEC - "HG EyeCandy Body" for Oblivion. MMM - "Martigan's Monster Mod" for Oblivion or "Mart's Mutant Mod" for Fallout 3. OBMM - Oblivion Mod Manager. RTFM - General internet acronym meaning "read the f***ing manual". RTS - In the wider world, this is an acronym for the Real-Time Strategy genre of games. The name of the mod "Real Time Settler" for Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas is a play on those words. WMK - "Weapon Mod Kits" for Fallout 3. XFO - "Xodarap's Fallout Overhaul" for Fallout: New Vegas. YMMV - General internet acronym meaning "your mileage may vary". I think Google Chrome preserves text in form fields that you navigate back to. So, a Chrome user could just keep the page with the error on it open and check the site's status in a different tab. When the site became available again, they could hit Back in the original tab and there their post would be.

Importing Oblivion Mods without Consent?
Vaz2008 replied to maniczombie's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Most likely there wouldn't be a "no". There wouldn't be a "yes". Just endless silence since the original modder flitted away from the site months or years ago and will never check their PMs. that counts as a no. I hardly bother replying when I am just saying no, I just ignore it and delete the PM. That's very mean. Being ignored is far more frustrating than receiving a no. -
