  1. Even though I'm something of an Alistair fangirl, I find that idea rather epic. <as Alistair starts to leave after throwing his anti-Loghain tantrum in the Landsmeet> PC: "...Hey. You forgot something." Alistair: *pauses and looks over his shoulder* PC: *le stab*
  2. Yes, and according to certain fangirls it's romanceable.
  3. That is pretty odd. It hasn't even been done for Oblivion, as far as I know. But as a fellow DS9 fan, I certainly don't object to the idea.
  4. I play on Easy because I'm a wimp. Cimora Cousland v1: - Missed origin sex, Chasind trail, Shale, Soldier's Peak, Leliana's and Sten's personal quests, various side quests...hence my intent to replay this character. - Saved Redcliffe Village and got Lloyd killed in the process, sacrificed Isolde, encouraged Teagan and Eamon to let Jowan live. - Helped the mages, let that one blood mage go, and killed the desire demon with the bewitched templar. - Got Zathrian to end the werewolf curse, brought Cammen and Gheyna together. - Sided with Caridin and put Harrowmont on Orzammar's throne. - Killed the Tevinter slavers in the Denerim alienage. - Lied to Morrigan about killing Flemeth. - Did not harden Alistair. - Won Zevran's loyalty. - Romanced Alistair and ended up becoming his queen. - When jailbreaking Anora, surrendered to Cauthrien and then escaped Fort Drakon without outside help (posing as newly recruited guards and leaving "on patrol"). Later conviced Cauthrien to let them into the Landsmeet peacefully. - Cimora dueled Loghain herself and then let Alistair finish him off. - Anora is rotting in a tower. Told her she'd have her support in the Landsmeet and, obviously, didn't mean a word of that. - Did Morrigan's ritual. - Stayed in Denerim after the epilogue, asking only to continue serving the crown, while Sten returned home, Leliana went after the Urn of Sacred Ashes (and failed because the local dragon wasn't slain), Oghren stuck around, Wynne became an advisor to the court, and I'm not sure what happened to Zevran. Ganin Tabris: - Slaughtered pretty much everyone in the estate during the origin story, including the Arl's son and his cohorts. Took full responsibility for the incident in attempt to shield Soris. - Saved Redcliffe Village but failed to kill off Lloyd and instead gave Bella money to leave and find a better life for herself. Went to the Circle for help against Connor's demon. Rescued the mages, let that one blood mage go, let the desire demon and the bewitched templar go, and upon returning to Redcliffe he had Wynne go into the Fade. Didn't care what happened to Jowan. - Got Zathrian to end the werewolf curse, brought Cammen and Gheyna together. - Sided with Caridin and put Bhelen on Orzammar's throne. - Killed the Tevinter slavers in the Denerim alienage. - Having "romanced" Morrigan initially, Ganin killed Flemeth. There was no romance between them as far as Ganin was concerned, but eventually a good friendship developed, even after he left her for Zevran. - Zevran + Ganin = Love - Hardened Alistair, did not harden Leliana, retrieved Sten's sword, earned Shale's friendship. - Fought Cauthrien when jailbreaking Anora and defeated all but her and one of her soldiers before succumbing and being thrown into Fort Drakon. Escaped by seducing a guard, snapping his neck and taking his uniform, and then stealing a password note. - Had to kill Cauthrien before entering the Landsmeet. - Told Anora she'd have his support in the Landsmeet but put Alistair forward instead. Ganin dueled Loghain and then let Alistair finish it. - Agreed to Morrigan's ritual, bedding her himself rather than making Alistair do it. - Returned to the Grey Wardens after the epilogue. Zevran accompanied him and helped to train new Wardens, though never becoming one himself. Ganin asked Alistair to elevate the elves and so Shianni became a bann. Shale went to the Tevinters to see about restoring her mortality and dwarven body, and Wynne accompanied her. Leliana's expedition to the Urn of Sacred Ashes succeeded. Sten returned home with his honour intact. I'm not sure what happened to Oghren. I apologise for the long, boring post. xD EDIT: Eek, it's even longer than it looked in the fast-reply box.
  5. Vincent (Not named after anyone or anything in particular.) Mangy (Twice.) Aligan (Alistair + Morrigan) Can't remember the other names I've used.
  6. In-game? PrtScr button on your keyboard. The resulting *.bmp files are saved in the folder where Oblivion is installed.
  7. My goal: to revert Martin's face and maybe the Emperor's back to stock settings. I searched this forum and read the FAQ on the Tamriel NPCs Revamped website. Also downloaded a mod that lets the player-character have Martin's face, but it was an *.esp and the CS failed to load it. Maybe simply double-clicking on the *.esp was the wrong way to do it? That's probably not the only way to accomplish what I'm aiming for, though, right? So what I'm hoping for here is a pointer about how to do this by removing the Martin part of TNR or splicing the original stuff from Oblivion.esm, or something. EDIT: Solved. These are the steps I followed, in case anyone with a similar question comes across this thread. Though there are references to my specific goal, namely Martin, one may be able to imagine how alternatives would work. 1. Start the TES Construction Set. 2. Click the "Load Master/Plugin Files" button. It's a small icon depicting an opening folder and it's found near the top of the window, second from the left. 3. Double-click on Oblivion.esm. Don't click on "Set as Active File", just click "OK" and say "Yes" if a warning appears. Wait for loading. 4. Actors > NPC > Imperial > Male > scroll down until you find Martin 5. Double-click on Martin and go to his Face tab. Click "Save", so you can use "Restore" later if you make a mistake in the next step. 6. Go to the Face Advanced tab. You may have to click the little arrows to the right of these tabs in order to navigate them fully. 7. Make a small change or two. For example, I shortened Martin's nose slightly. When you're done, press "OK". 8. Click the diskette icon up next to the button you used in step #2. You are prompted to name the new *.esp file you're creating. I named mine Martin unTNRd 9. Using Oblivion Mod Manager or the like, activate your *.esp and move it somewhere after "TNR ALL RACES FINAL.esp" so that its changes to the game will take priority over TNR's. 10. Check in-game to see whether you were successful.
  8. I'd recommend reading The Stolen Throne first, but I'm not far enough along in The Calling to say that with much certainty.
  9. The comparison of Grey Warden recruitment to Branka's creating golems is interesting. Maybe it was intended. Choosing between Branka and Caridin is definitely a time when the PC may recall the idea that "Grey Wardens do whatever it takes." But Duncan probably isn't a notable element of the matter. He's one of many senior Grey Wardens, and I expect all of those who have the authority and ability to enact the Joining ritual kill recruits who attempt to turn back from it at the last moment. Duncan just happens to be the leader of the Wardens' Ferelden branch and, initially, the PC's only example of a senior Warden.
  10. At the moment, only these: + Pineappletree s Vibrant Colors + Gift list codex entry for each companion + Elven Female preset for the PC + New Elf Male Preset Face for PC In the future I will probably use these as well: + Expanded Shapeshifting - Learned Forms (Core mods seem too dubious right now.) + Obsidians Nobler Noble (Waiting for it to mature a little more, and hesitant to give up the fun of beating up Howe Guards in underwear.) + The "Sex Movies Always Play" mods. Again, I'm waiting for maturation.
  11. Wait a year or two and, like Oblivion and Fallout 3, Dragon Age will be able to resemble a furry hentai mall from Second Life. :P
  12. Zevran's tattoo isn't Dalish. The Dalish seem to prefer far more convoluted designs.
  13. I've used mods in Oblivion, Fallout 3, and other games, so I'm not entirely clueless. Halfway clueless, yes, as I don't delve deeply into the guts of the matter. Anyway, I installed DA:O mods for the first time yesterday. Maybe the day before. Either way, I didn't actually play the game again until today. - Expanded Shapeshifting - Learned Forms Full Form Abilities v1.46 - Arcane Warrior Casting Fix v1.02 - Dragon Age Mutator 013 --- R0: Rare random travel encounters are more likely to happen So now I have combat lag. The well-known kind, where attacks don't have any actual effect on the target until a few seconds later. I did not have this before, not to a noticeable degree at least. Removed the Arcane Warrior Casting Fix *.gda from the override folder I put it in, but that didn't solve the problem. Ran the Mutator again to undo its change(s). Still experienced the lag. I hate the prospect of uninstalling Expanded Shapeshifting; it's such a lovely mod. Maybe it's incompatible with patch 1.01a?
  14. I just finished reading The Stolen Throne (which I liked) and will soon begin The Calling.
  15. The problem I currently have is similar. After playing with anisotropic filtering 2x for a session or two, I decided to trade it in for better performance and disabled it. Next time I played, the ground was pixelated. It looks like the left side of this Duke Nukem 3D screenshot: http://hrp.duke4.net/screens/hrp_screen04.jpg EDIT: Reenabling anisotropic fixed my problem. On second thought I don't think our issues are related at all. When I looked straight down at the ground, it was fine - only the slanted nearer-middle-distance areas aniso affects were pixelated. Anyway, I hope a solution to your LOD thing crops up somewhere, someday. :/
