are Nazis really welcomed here on Nexus?
falloutboy65 replied to falloutboy65's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
yeah, again, I already apologized for the admittedly really bad typo on such a central word as the one I was actually complaining about. It shouldn't have happened in the first place. Guess I gave my being non-english/american native speaker away and I humbly admit that I should have been more careful and thorough in my typing... sorry. I know, it is easy to say: ignore and move along and for most parts of mods that I do not condone I do exactly that. Admittedly I might react especially allergic to anything related to Nazi ideology. But I stand to that and will not apologize for it. I had the same thought as VultureTX: would the americans among the nexus croud be as tolerant when someone created mods with al-Qaeda/IS/ISIS/whatever islamic (or other religious) extremist supporting symbolism... I really don't know. Well, guess what, for some of us (yes there is a real world outside of the USA) this is not so very different. to reduce Nazi-Germany's philosophy and symbolisms to the fact that they are only forbidden in Germany (and maybe a few other countries)... is that really an argument for anything? To reduce using their version of a swastica, SS symbols, etc to a matter of fashion.. wow, simply don't know how to react to that. Don't know if that view gives me even more of a creep. anyways, this 'turning a blind eye', being tolerant in the wrong place, is, for me, a symbol of our current real world going to shits where xenophobia thrives at every corner. And in my opinion, a freethinking community as this one should be able to still voice an opinion against any kind of POLITICAL extremism. Don't get me wrong. I play games like Wolfenstein, I play these games with clear violent overboarding features and things that, in real life would be not even worth discussing, so far out of my real life moral standards they stand. It's just a game. It does not diminish, in my opinion, the point I try to make: using such games to play as a supporter for a (even if only historical) political party that cause so much havoc and grief across the world... that's something I have a hard time to 'ignore and move on' (this happens far too often already in real life - see what currently happens in Germany and France as a result). I am against censorship as much as any sane person. Freedom of Speech is one of the highest values. And yet I see one specific section where I have hard time to defend this value: against people who's view on the world is, among other atrocities, to exterminate exactly this Freedom of Speech. And please don't get old-testament on me. I'm not about eye for an eye, I'm about 'beware of the beginnings'. Again, that's just my opinion. -

sorry for the typo, first of all. English is not my native language, shouldn't have happened nonetheless. Also sorry for voicing my opinion in the apparently wrong form and location. Since it was not about an individual mod/modder I thought it would be better to say something in the open than hidden behind a reporting button. But fair enough, if that's the way it should be done I will adhere to the rules. It was not meant to stirr any kind of unrest. Just opinion. And believe me when I say that I am anti-censorship as well.... well, apparently only 99.5% of the time... @Boombro: I want only tosay that I see a big difference between an obviously overly violent game an depicting a political party that, in the real world, stood for all of this as an applied philosophy (including all its consequences). close this thread, I'll keep my opinion to myself in the future. -

http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/2889 for example. I don't know if I'm the one to be pitied or the three of you, thinking supporting this kind of fashism fascism* is something to be ignored, especially considering the current tendency of the people to vote for right-wing extremist views in far too many countries. guess this ignorant attitude explains a lot of history... [Edit]* corrected for a) Linspuppy having a point that this word should definitely not be misspelled and b) all those who think that orthography is more important that what the discussion is all about. whatever... I give up and stick with Einstein's quote of universe and infinity and some other stuff I'm too stupid and senstive to remember. -
I must say I am quite disgusted to see various mods for Fallout 4 promoting Nazi symbols, armors, tattoos, etc. Is this really a place where those (imho) degenerates are tolerated and maybe even welcomed. At least one of them gets 10+ votes (I know compared to other modes that's next to nothing but to me that's at least 11 votes to many) and I really think this is quite depressing. It's not like those mods are made for enemy factions but factions the player character can join and be (feel) part of. It's a pity there is no tag like 'nazi lover' or something along those lines. At least I would have a chance to block such content in my configuration... While in general I am quite tolerant for other peoples views of the world/sexual and even religious preferences, this is something that I really can't understand (both seeing those mods here and the apparent fact nobody else seems to be bothered by it). But I suppose this stuff is covered by the general rules of acceptance here.... still I needed to get this off my chest as it really makes me angry every time I one of those mods. make what you will of it

thanks for your hard work and keeping us apraised of the outcome. Just one thing that made me cringe.... GOOGLE Authenticator? using tools from the biggest data collector for Security? Sorry if that sounds paranoid (I am aware it does) but, yes, that makes me rather uneasy and feeling anything but more secure. I hope at least I will not be forced to use this authentication method as I am avoiding anything connected to whole Google universe and will sure as hell not share my phone number or any other personal detail... If there are alternatives I would be greatful if those could be at least considered. cheers

Agreed. I tried to load the pw link in a Sandboxie session with Private Browsing and NoScript on. For a sec you see 'icon' called password.txt before you get immediately re-directed to 'widget.sharecash.org/nojs.php' complaining that JavaScript is disabled. So can't say (and won';t find out) what's there. reported.

Nexus Mods centralisation complete, we now support mods for all games
falloutboy65 replied to Dark0ne's topic in Site Updates
All download files have now a "seemingly" random file id that does not reflect the mod id anymore. This causes for example the ModOrganizer (ModID: 1334) to be unable to download anything: example: OLD: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=1334 NEW: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/download/1000084017 I hope that this new system will not prevent mod organizer other than NMM to become blocked. -
looks nice indeed, well done. One request that I am missing from the old advanced search: Filter for "adult-only" If you could add that to the attributes filter (e.g. only visible or activated for those with the adult flag activated in their profile). It was nice and easy. Thanks for considering :) And again: nice job

Thanks Ripple, I had indeed installed 'Economics of Skyrim' at one point and removed it, most probably without disabling the Rental function. Reactivated it, disabled the Rental function and now at least I can use the forges of some cities again. Only Whiterun and Solitude won't do anything. No matter, I can live with that. Yeah, that it is not possible to clean saves from leftovers is a major pain. There are too many great mods (like Economics) that after some game time still turn out to be not right for the way you play. By then you may have sunk already a good amount of gametime and I am not the one to replay the same last 15 hours again and again. I'm relieved, I had actually completely forgotten that I had that mod installed. Thanks a lot for pointing me into the right direction!

I just found out that I am not able to use any of the default forges (Whiterun, Markath, ...). Not the forge, not the Tanning Rack, not the Smelter, not the Workbench. I wonder if there is any way to get this running again. Strange fact: the forge in Dawnguard is working fine. I leave Dawnguard and travel to Whiterung -> nothing. what I tried so far - click on any of the above (1st or 3rd person view) and simply nothing happens. - removed all of the mods I've been playing for "ever" with and it does not change (left only minimum: UFO, custom race&body, weight changing mods) - loaded older saves at points where I am certain I was, at the time, still able to use any of the standard forges -> same issue - loaded a very old save in Markath (lvl 16, I am currrently lvl 49) and it worked. Went to Whiterun and -> worked - switched weapons, shouted, jumped, killed, just about anything, as was suggested in http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/691249-i-can-not-forge/page__p__5480080__hl__forge__fromsearch__1 -> no change. - copied back original HiRes files and ran "Verify integrity" I am a bit at my wits end. I am certainly not going back 33 levels and basically start the game from scratch. So if anyone had an idea how to fix this.... I'd be more than greatful. If I have to live with it... well, then so be it. Maybe with the new DLC I get more working forges again. Still it is annoying.

@mogamepro: that's it. I had been trying everything similar to yourself. funny enough that when I stepped out onto the "balcony" in the castle, I had no issues going out or in. Only when leaving to fight the first dragon. It failed every time. Removing the Map entries in Skyrim.ini fixed it!!! fantastic Was really getting frustrated. Thanks!

[uPDATE] Obsolete. Must have been something with the saves in Denerim.... Loading first a considerably older save of another location actually worked. After that I was able to load the Denerim one. Please close the topic Hi all, I wonder if there is a max limit of mods active at any time (incl. official DLCs). I use the ModManager 1.9d to organize my mods (http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=277) Atm I have (incl. official DLCs) 32 Dazips and 32 overrides. just wanted to add another Override (actually two, but it doesn't matter as the issue occurs also when I only add one - both show "no conflict") Now none of my saves would load. When I remove the new Override, the save would load without problems. I patched the daorigins.exe already to allow usage of >2GB RAM as per http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/227036-dragon-age-crashing/ specs: Win7 Ultimate 64bit 6GB RAM ATI HD 4870 X2 Core i7-920 anyone experience with that or an idea? Haven't been able to find a topic related to this behaviour, so sorry if this was already discussed. Any hint or advise appreciated. Best Regards falloutboy65
