  1. kinda like project ares? http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=48621
  2. having just completed old world blues Dr. Mobius reminds me so much of a senile grandfather,i'd love to take him out of the old folks home called the Big Mt and go on a mentats filled adventure through the wasteland.even if he didn't fight and just made comments every where you went.if the game takes place in 2281,the only people his age he could have a good chat with is Mr. House (born in 2020) or Raul (born in 2047) i'm sure he could come up with a few reasons raisins to visit repcon, robco, or Helios One. maybe even vist some of the lesser travelled places like savage some tech from the downed vertibird, secret vaults in cressant canyon or devils throat,or repairing the black mountain satelite dishes to teleport in some builder robots that create a bigMT trading post (with a pacification field) that trades with all factions (not sure how hard that would be to randomly have different faction members coming and going like it's a busy market place) maybe you have to go broker a trading deal with each faction to build a teleporter pad in their base as a safe passage for them to the bigmt trading post if the gun runners can run automated kiosks surely the Think Tank can run an entire automated trading post (lobotomites wearing suits?)
  3. do you guys have a list of the ads you've run on nexus? there was an ad for a sci-fi ebook awhile ago and i thought that sounds cool i'll buy that after work and when i got back my browser had crashed and i lost it i can't for the life of me remember the name of it,do you have a list you can look it up or happen to remember the name? it wasn't a well know author, something about a military brat finding an alien inteligence while mining or something.i believe it was part 1 of a trillogy yeah i know this is a long shot in the dark.
  4. what if authors posted md5s of their files on the website and the mod manager calculates and compares the md5 of the mod before installing. that would give some protecting against file being tampered with. i suppose a hacker could change the md5 on the website,so maybe put the md5s on all your servers and have the mod manager check all the servers (downloaded file matches server A,B and C so it must be legit).with the idea being 1 server might get hacked but it's unlikely ALL servers will get hacked.if the mod manager doesn't get 3 matches it sends a message back to you guys saying file abc.zip downloaded from server B is not validating then all you guys have to do is check the logs for these field reports to know what's affected
  5. can you set each archive file name to have the version number (ex: awesome_mod_v1.23.zip) right now mod manager tells me there's a new version of a mod (awesome_mod.zip) so i click the <!> to goto the page, i download the new version (also named awesome_mod.zip) only to have mod manager say you already have this, i tell it to overwrite but it doesn't increment the version number or update in mod in the game. i don't think i should have to uninstall and then reinstall in order to update a mod.couldn't you include in the archive an xml file with md5s of the files of the mod and have it compare and auto replace any that changed from what you currently have installed
  6. just a thought, but why don't you put a rotating banner ad on the actual nexus app? people have the app open as much as the website, would that not double the ad revenue you can reinvest into the site. free ipod/android apps generally have ads, so most people are comfortable with seeing ads on free things.
  7. slow internet speed user here i recommend once you've finished downloading it, tell steam to do a backup.store all your steam game backups on an external hard drive(or burn them to dvd, print off a nice dvd case cover and put it on your shelf),then you can just do a restore from backup and save yourself downloading the whole thing again, steam will only have to download the relatively small updates that have come out since you made the backup.also good if you have monthly bandwidth caps like surprisingly a lot of people in small towns or remote areas still do. keywords: slow internet, bandwidth caps, steam backup & restore, retail vs download,
