  1. HI guys. I edited a follower mod where I used another body and face, all custom with it's own MSN sets. Everything works except for the face, where superimposed is the vanilla face MSN from the default folder and I have edited the head nif to point correctly and the headpart in the esp file. Is there anywhere else I can look? BTW, if there is an easier way to get another body "with" the head in the game please advise. Thanks!
  2. LOL. Best advice I've been given, so far, for this puppy rainbow issue that has a caster downcast. I shall have to resolve myself to read every scrap of every readme and see if i missed something, maybe even unload some mods and retest. It's what I was thinking, but you've confirmed it. Thanks for the advice!
  3. Ok, Fine....I believe I used cunning subterfuge in my topic title to get you to look at my post for assistance among the 100s here. I really don’t have a puppy rainbow spell. At least not yet, but that would be fabulous! But now since you're here :) What I do have is a problem with equipping spells, modded spells that is...Like if I add FINIS or a mod that requires you to equip a spell to control an NPC, I can select it and the selector arrow does move/point to the spell I wish to use, however it doesn’t place an R or L inside the arrow to indicate which hand is going to control this newfound NPC altering magica, and I cannot use the spell. I can equip other spells and weapons, but not modded spells, even after carefully reading the install notes and following them to the authors letter...So the basic issue is I see modded spells, but just not equip and use them on any mod I add. Any advice about where I can actually get a spell that spews puppies and rainbows, and/or how to fix my spell equip madness would be fantastically appreciated!
  4. Hi - When I make changes to NPCs in the CK they do how show up until I target NPC and type setnpcweight 0 or whatever #. I have to do this every time I go into a new cell or load a game and you know how bothersome that is. Is there a permanent way to fix this by a script or save game cleaner? Thanks.
  5. After tons of research I finally found a lot of these types of problems also answered on Nightasy's website. Not only did I get a lot of my questions answered there I also learned how to get Daz/Poser content installed and working in game. Nightasy.com The only problem that mostly is plaguing me now is the weight sliders on some Daz imports. I'll post a question to Nightasy for that I think since his threads are usually quickly answered. Unless someone who frequents this thread knows why, after re-doing a clothing from _1 and only adjusting the mesh to fit _0, does it not shrink when I test with setnpcweight 0? It stays at the 100 setting, but the body shrinks correctly. Of course the body isnt part of the clothing since I set the clothing with no body, on 45 setting in CK and Nifskope. Best modding wishes to all
  6. Thanks IsharaMeradin - I am now able to make seperate textures tie to one nif! Thank you for your help! CR
  7. I found this for Fallout but I cant get it to work in Skyrim, but it sounds like it should or is close. Can anyone provide a link to a guide that works for having many textures a with one nif set please? http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Unique_armor_and_texture_sets_in_easy_steps ``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` The jist: If you'd like to create a non-replacer Re-tex armor it's really easy in the G.E.C.K. I've found people appreciate to have both, a replacer and a non-replacer posted on the same page. There are (at least) two ways to do this, but I'll explain the best and easiest way as it was explained to me. Using this technique you won't need to upload the meshes associated with your texture. 1) Create a copy of your texture and associated normal map (_n) in a new folder. Title the folder appropriately and place it in Fallout3/data/textures/armor. 2) Launch the GECK and load the Fallout3.esm data file. 3) In the OBJECT window navigate to Miscellaneous/Texture Sets. Right-click, create new. Name your texture set whatever is clever I suggest it begins with a number so it's easy to find later. Highlight 'Diffuse' and click edit at the bottom. Navigate to the new folder you created before and choose your custom texture. Highlight Normal/Gloss and repeat the above step except choose your (_n) normal map file. Click OK and you'll see that your Texture Set has been added to the list. 4) In the OBJECT window navigate to the base armor associated with your texture under items/armor and create a copy. Change the Editor ID to something Unique, I suggest it begins with a number so it's easy to find later. 5) Edit the rest of the fields the way you'd like the armor set-up. Most of it will be filled in already because you copied the default Armor, so just edit the fields you'd like to be different with your Unique armor. 6) This is the important part for your custom texture: Choose 'edit' next to Male Biped Model. The names in the next part change slightly depending on what armor you're editing. You need to change all the fields which don't say MEAT in them. So likely, arms, upper-body, ect. Double-click on any of those pieces to edit. If you titled your Texture set with a number it should appear near the top. Double-click to choose your Texture set in each of the fields which don't say MEAT. Click OK when you're done. 7)Repeat that process for the WORLD MODEL, there should only be one field to change. And the Female Biped model if applicable. 8)Click OK on your armor and SAVE. 9)In the CELL VIEW window, find a cell, or two, or four where you'd like to place the armor. I like to test by adding them to the Women's Bathroom in Megaton (Interiors). Once you have the CELL loaded in the 3D view, drag your armor from the OBJECT menu into the 3D view. Place it where you'd like (you can ctrl+F to drop it on the floor). 10) At this point you should be able to see your armor laying on the floor/wherever and the texture should be yours. 11)Save and exit. You're done! If you have any questions gimme a shout. Hope that helps :)
  8. Is there anything more than this, a walk through maybe? I cant figure it out from just this. :)
  9. Can anyone please tell me where there's a tutorial that points out how to set multiple textures in the CK for one set of nifs please? I know how to add several nifs pointing to separate textures but I've seen other use only a few nifs for dozens of textures. If there is no guide out there can some one kindly direct me to the proper steps or video? Thanks!
  10. This is awesome stuff Dave and should be a sticky. I think when I get some time I will record a video and post it on youtube for anyone else that has had the same roadblocks as me since his is not easy intuitive stuff here. If you hadn't helped me out, I would NEVER have figured this out on my own. So thank you very much again. Do you have any talents also with bringing objects with their textures from say, 3ds max into Skyrim? I saw a car someone brought in and that would be very entertaining to be able to do something like that, but the steps seemed poorly documented. Of course more donations would be in order for your teaching time.
  11. Just got up and saw this n map goodness. I'll review and let you know how it turns out. Thanks again for taking the time to help and create this. I know you don't do this for any reward but I think there are too few of folks willing to lend their time and talents and they should be rewarded and encouraged to continue giving because it's a win for everyone and exudes happiness to the community. OMG! I followed this to the letter and now I have a PERFECT looking pair of shorts! Thank you man! I must say I'm glad you helped me because I would have NEVER EVER figured this out on my own with what little bread crumbs the Google has with bits and pieces on various sites. You've really gotten me to a place I couldn't have achieved without your help, thanks again. Now I'm off to find that Paypal link.... BTW, any advice for creating a normal map for clothing which are semi transparent such as the astounding items created on this link: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/24444
  12. Awesome, I have tried to follow this, as well as other sites, with no change in the shine as I suspect something is missing: http://cs.elderscrolls.com/index.php/Quality_Normal_Maps Your link to Paypal makes thanking you easy :)
  13. On it's way now Dave. :) Edit: It should be in your in-box now. Let me know if you need anything else, and also your paypal account for your time. :)
  14. I very much appreciate the helpful replies. Consider me extremely normal map challenged and treat me like an idiot because I've canvassed the Google on creating and saving the n.dds file, tried numerous suggestions and nothing has worked for me, as I have some setting or two off somewhere, and it could be the alpha channel, but I swear when I only selected it it was black a a pirates heart. What I think I need is for some kind soul to walk me through, no, not every little detail, but the critical steps A to B on how to export properly to de-shine my shorts. I'm happy to even donate some PayPal to whomever will GIMP a N map brief tutorial for me. I think the links provided are not for skyrim specifically and there is some setting difference that matters that I can't figure out...
