SSE Anyone know what I did to mess up my CK?
Violence replied to lizardnexus's topic in Skyrim's Creation Kit and Modders
I first encountered this when I tried to convert specifically "Enchanting Freedom" off Nexus, the SE version. Previously I was able to convert mods just fine from LE to SE. FYI, my system and my installation are both healthy and I've found no problems, down to checking for temperatures or even script lag- You name it, I've checked it. So this strange error in CK when converting that specific mod, is either the CK or the mod going a bit crazy. Obviously, I've updated my CK and included all fixes and bells and whistles, properly installed. As far as I can tell after looking into it more extensively, this book seems to have been included in the game by Bethesda as a guide or translation manual for fonts, font effects, font size and so on. I personally use no fonts mod except one that replaces default fonts for Diablo fonts. I do not use book mods, I do not use other font mods, no font effects, nothing at all. Now, why the CK detects problems with that book when trying to convert Enchanting Freedom is 100% beyond me. So is the reason behind Enchanting Freedom not being properly converted BUT STILL BEING ON SE NEXUS- The author puts a file on the SE side of Nexus and disappears, then people have to find what's wrong and fix it... 10/10. There's even a guy there who low key tells people it's their fault and they should learn to use the CK, condescending AF while at it, so it's a damned circus, plus that guy also insists other similar mods are trash because they CTD for him- So... He better follow his own damned advice right there... SMH... Any way back to the point; I'm dropping Enchanting Freedom and finding another mod to do what that does. The book is vanilla, normally inaccessible, its title is indeed just letters and numbers as PeterMartyr mentions. That's all. Now specifically to PeterMartyr- Look, this has nothing to do with loose strings, or language strings, or the game's cache, or other crap in the Data Folder. And I have no idea what you're on about, when you talk about "Purging" or "Much To About Nothing + Safe to Ignore" because that's barely English at this point, no offense, you're trying to help but your words are confusing my friend xD As for your advice to read warnings and try to understand crap, this is all EXACTLY ABOUT THAT, the OP started the thread because he saw the error and is trying to comprehend what went wrong. And in the end you just conclude with "Ignore Beth problems" which is contradictory to what you've been saying... Those of us with the same issue, can't ignore it because it doesn't feel like we should risk losing a 100% working installation because we decided to convert and ignore that error. As you say, we just want to find out what's wrong and fix it. Seriously... Sigh... -
I just encountered this in EmberShard Mines, on a fresh, relatively light installation. By what I read here, it's the exact same issue with no apparent cause. So far I've only seen it once and I have not been able to reproduce it. I was wondering if anyone managed to find out what it is.

BY THE POWER OF NECROMANCY! Seriously though, how was this solved ultimately? I got it for the first time today.

Going to quote again to pick up where we left - No matter which of the two text files I edited and saved, even with auto sort disabled, Vortex doesn't care and reverts everything to what it wants. In essence there is NO manual sorting allowed of any kind. At all. I'm moving back to NMM, still thank you for helping me understand. "...If you disable auto sorting you can edit the txt file, that's what the game uses. Vortex is out at this point, it does not sort any more. It will show you your manually modified list but it has no effect on anything..." This statement is 100% false and I tried on 2 different PCs in fact. If that is a glitch, that's a very consistent one. To me it looks like that's a design choice.

Thank you!! You have no idea, thank you so much! Now I understand! ^_^ What I meant with my second point was whether or not Vortex would try to sort things after I edit the text file manually, which you answered in two ways, the one covering me instantly was that "..If you disable auto sorting Vortex is out..." which was part of your answer to my 3rd point. Hey, thank you again!!

If your game uses plugins, then open the Vortex plugins page. There you'll find all the information you want and more. I get that, but... "One is LoadOrder and the other is PlugIn, and they look almost completely identical" as I described. Of course my game uses them, but which one is the actual load order is what I'm asking. Thank you. Look in the column "Load Order." That is the actual plugin load order. Bear with me please, maybe I'm just stupid but bear with me and my weird, apparently, English at this point because I want to be absolutely sure; ESM Example! 1.ESM 2.ESM To make 2 have priority over 1, I set 2 to "LOAD AFTER" 1? ESP Example! 1.ESP 2.ESP To make 2 have priority over 1, I set 2 to "LOAD AFTER" 1? Do I understand Vortex's sorting correctly here? I am not talking special case ESPs and ESMs. I am asking if this is how it works as a general rule. Furthermore, are the following true or false? - No immediate, direct visual representation of what I do, as in the ESPs moving around within Vortex's UI in the PLUG IN tab as they did in NMM's PlugIn list in NMM's UI. - Vortex will still attempt to sort every ESP I have not created a rule for, essentially attempting to adapt the whole Load Order to each change I make to individual ESP rules regarding loading after or before another individual ESP. If true, can I stop that? - If I want to manually edit my Load Order, as in literally go into the text file and rearrange my ESPs however I want and have Vortex respect those changes, I can do so by editing one the text files in my AppData/Roaming/Vortex/Skyrim/Profiles and Vortex will abide to it once I finish arranging and save. If that's true, which of the two text files is that? Thank you.

Hey, I'm very late to this party it seems but I can't see the screens and I would like to know if it's the same problem I'm facing right now on a fresh install, before I try your solution! You wouldn't happen to still be around, or still have that issue? I'll try to describe it for good measure; Visible sky box seams and low resolution purple hued clouds, that do seem made this way IE it doesn't look like broken textures but intentional bad design. If it helps any, here is my set up; SSD, I9 9900K, 2080 Ti Mods I use that alter weather, clouds, possibly the sky : Wonders of Weather Lightning During ThunderStorms(Minty) Vivid Clouds and Fogs Morning Fogs Re True Storms Realistic Water Two SMIM and Skyrim HD Sounds Of Skyrim Complete LE AOS2 ...And of course all their compatibility patches that I needed. I've followed instructions to the letter as well. ENB : 4Chromatic by Slothability

Thank you for the information, could you also tell me if this is universally true for both ESM and ESP? As an example which I mentioned earlier, in NMM it worked the other way around- You had to put the mod you wanted to dominate above of the others, instead of below like you would do with ESP. So in Vortex, does that translate into putting the mod that should dominate, to "Load Before"? I hope my question makes sense! The main focus of Vortex is more about loading Textures, meshes, and BSA BA2 properly, so let Vortex manage the ESPs, and ESMS and only do something about them if Vortex tells you there's a problem/conflict There's no need to micromanage your plugins like you had to do with NMM Same with the MOD part of the Mod, the textures, meshes etc, only fix things if Vortex complains about them by reporting a conflict. I would gladly let it handle ESP/ESM except it doesn't do so properly, I need certain things it insists should not be low my order, to actually be low. And I know that is the case because I've had this set up and I've used those particular mods. It does place Realistic Water Two to the bottom as it should, same for DSR, but I have others which Vortex insists shouldn't be too low. And some ESMs that need to take priority over others, don't. So Vortex's auto sorting is quite good but not good enough for me. TLDR me asking for a way to manually set my load order, and you telling me I shouldn't do it, is not exactly a conversation pertaining to the matter ;3 But you're right that in terms of textures especially, it handles things nicely and obviously I do let it do its thing and it works. But that's not the question here.

So in Vortex, does that translate into putting the mod that should dominate, to "Load Before"? I hope my question makes sense! In Bethesda games it's universally the case that the "load after" .esp and/or mod wins. That is true for Vortex, for NMM, and every other mod manager that I know of. I mean, yes, but you do know that for example in NMM the ESMs that come before, win? So I was wondering if that is the case for Vortex, so in essence if for ESMs I should pick load before, to give them higher priority over other ESM... Hey, maybe I am not phrasing it right, I don't know, English is not my primary. Sorry.

Apologies for quoting you directly, but could you tell me exactly which of the two files is the actual load order for Vortex? There are two in AppData/Roaming/Vortex/Skyrim/Profiles. One is LoadOrder and the other is PlugIn, and they look almost completely identical. Then, supposing I arrange things as I want manually(So for example the exact way I had my load order in NMM in a text file), how do I prevent Vortex from changing anything I do there? Turn off auto sort in the UI? Setting rules within Vortex itself seems extremely tedious and time consuming to me, not to mention a bit confusing. For example, if I had A.ESM and B.ESM, and want B to be prevalent over A, do I set it so B "Load After" A? Same for ESP, if I have X.ESP and Y.ESP and want X to be prevalent over Y, then X "Load After" Y? I ask specifically, because I remember that ESM work exactly the opposite as ESP, so the ESM highest on a list is the prevalent one... So doesn't that reverse the meaning of "Load After"? As said, confusing. Criticism follows, don't take me wrong but.. If I try to do any of this within Vortex, I have to work without visual clues, since I see nothing visibly reflecting what I do. With NMM I could see the list of my ESPs and their order, simple and easy. Hey in any case, I would appreciate any information!! Thanks!

Need to Remove Active Effects via console.
Violence replied to Sader325's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
*Lowers Hood* I mean no harm, but I need to bring this back from the dead... My character is stuck with Fortify Block and Fortify Health, with the same as sources(They used to be on items which I trashed, the effects remained though so instead of Fortify Health - Ebony Shield it says Fortify Health - Fortify Health). Is there any new, better way of getting rid of this? RecycleActor and Resurrect cause way too many unwanted side effects. These active effects have no ID and aren't spells either so DispelAll or individual Dispel is impossible. Save cleaning did nothing at all. Using RaceMenu to change sex or race did nothing either. Equipping items with the same enchantments and then taking them off also did nothing(I had sold the original items long ago, can't find the specific ones). Any help? Edit - I also tried looking up that thread about removing unwanted effects but that's 90% visuals and 10% things which I had already tried like Recycle. I even tried that RaceMenu alternative someone suggested here but it doesn't solve the issue... And gives free levels apparently too.
