  1. Congratz! Hopefully AMD/ATI will have a fix too. So far 11.11b preview drivers don't help.
  2. Yep, saints row for me too, and a myriad of other games reported by other people. Looks like it may be all games that were Console developed and posted to PC so far. BF3 works perfect for me at highest settings which is what makes me so mad about this issue because it could have obviously been fixed before release if they had tested it.
  3. I am having the exact same crash with a different game. I contacted that game's support and they said they are very well aware of the issue and are working with ATI/AMD to fix it. Both games were released in the same week so I'm positive this is the exact same issue with Skyrim. So the common factor (and Im not saying its their fault) is ATI cards, so there should be a fix from either AMD or the games in question but if you are having this problem with Nvidia then you are probably having a separate issue. So fingers crossed.. waiting.. tapping on the desk. Im glad I got a good response from the other game publisher because I was about to get a refund on Skyrim and just get a pirated copy, because honestly Bathesda completely lost me with this issue. And here we are on this site, the reason why their games last 3-4 years longer than they would have.
  4. So I took an old HDD and installed a clean version of windows on it. nothing else, no patches no updates no drivers except for the latest ATI 11.11. Installed the game loaded my last save which is where the game crashed on me after about 30 sec. and everything works fine now. Not conclusive by all means but still.. something.
  5. AFAIK the next Skyrim patch is xbox oriented to fix texture issues. So we will probably have to wait until first DLC or something, unless we can fix it ourselves.
  6. New ATI/AMD graphics drivers (11.11) are out: http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/downloads.aspx Hope they will help some.
  7. I tried the 11.11 preview drivers for ATI and it doesn't fix the issue, so you're probably correct in assuming new drivers wont fix the issue.
  8. And they wonder why PC gamers pirate games...
  9. I think the people having the problem described in this thread are having a hard crash where the monitor(s) go completely black and the computer needs a manual restart. A crash to desktop is different. You may find CTD solutions here: http://crashfixes.com/fixing-skyrim-crashes-freezes-errors-steam-crash-no-sound-lags-choppy-framerates/
  10. I have an HD 6870 too, will have to try that when I get home, will try to email Bathesda back about the problem since the last fix doesn't fix the problem. Whatever the problem may be, I think its safe to say its because Bathesda didn't develop or test the game for computers at all. Maybe they should have released the PC version a couple months after console if they refused to develop it in parallel.
  11. I have contacted Bethesda, and they gave me this solution: After some quick testing (about 20 minutes) I had no crashes, I'm not going to celebrate too early but give it a try and see if it helps you.
  12. Is there a thread about people reporting this problem on the official Bethesda forums?
  13. I am trying to create a custom bobblehead collection stand. I exported the bobbleheadcase.nif from fallout3meshes.bsa through the mod manager and it appeared to export just fine. I tried to export with fo3archive for the same results. The problem is when I try to import the file into nifskope - it gives me the errors "device position incorrect after block number..." and I can't see the 3d model. Also get an error when I try to import it into Maya 2008 with Niftools. I am using the latest Nifskope 1.0.9 and tried 1.0.8 for same result. I tried different .nif meshes to no avail. In case it matters I am using Fallout 3 1.7(latest) with all the dlc's. If anyone has any advice comments anything that can help. Thanks
