  1. Well, the real problem is that BethSoft doesn't have this game set up to generate a log file when loading resources--like every other PC game ever.
  2. Exactly what controls this? I'm trying to get a cursor/crosshair-hovered actor to show "Activate", or similar. I think I can figure this out, but I'd love to know if there's an easy method that I've overlooked.
  3. Results of my findings aren't so great, tbh. Smoking, if I'm not mistaken, is an idle flavor animation. These are applied to characters by race and gender, rather than by individual or by geographic marker/target. They're stored in HKX format, which I'm not familiar with, because I'm more programmer than modeller or animator. Additionally, I don't know a way to test idle animations, short of staring dumbly at the screen for hours. For those reasons, I'm testing a workaround, which you can also try (in the console, after backing up your saves like a smart person): 2F1E.addkeyword 1157E8; 2F1F.addkeyword 1157E8; What this does is add a keyword to Piper (by both base ID and reference ID), to make the game think she's a child. I figure that if BethSoft's devs had any foresight, they'd have made the cigarette smoking animations adult-only somehow. Presently, my Piper companion hasn't had a cigarette yet, but she's also quite modified. There's a lot of moving parts, as usual. If you'd like the try this experiment yourself, you can undo it afterward, by either restoring your saves or using the following lines: 2F1E.removekeyword 1157E8; 2F1F.removekeyword 1157E8; Edit: fixed the code, damn it.
  4. I do companion mods (incl. Piper, CURIE, etc.), and I'll look into this when I have time- but nobody get their hopes up, because it's my understanding that smoking is 'geographically-targeted' rather than 'character-targeted'. (Meaning that if you reload and bring a different companion to the same spot on the map, they'll likely smoke too. Note that it's probably human-only.)
  5. People seem to be overlooking the obvious... Young female mods are popular because this game has young fans, and when you're (eg.) 16 years old, you're attracted to other 16 year olds.
  6. Just holster your weapon and they should forgive you. I've friendly-fired settlers/provisioners a few times, and this worked.
  7. Exactly what makes an item snap to a surface like a counter vs. snapping like a floor? I ask because I'm presently working with a surface that containers (eg. coolers) will snap to, when chairs and beds will not. (Objects keep their red highlight, and clip through the surface when I'm attempting to place them.) I'm a bit lost on this.
  8. That's unfortunate. Has it always been this way? Because I swear I've updated mods in the past and seen them in the Latest Files list.
  9. I was wondering why my Fallout 4 mod ("Waterworks") doesn't seem to show up in Nexus' Latest Files (at least right away) after I update it? (I updated the main file, readme, description, and main image not too long ago.)
